The Workhouse Gym

Fantastic experience: I have trained at the workhouse gym many times during my work trips throughout the years and I have only positive things to say. Clean, well maintained machines, super friendly staff and reasonable prices for short term membership. will be back for sure!

Fantastic experience: My partner and I trained at the workhouse before moving away. The gym itself is very clean. The staff are incredibly welcoming and the other members are super supportive. In my time using the gym new equipment was being added what felt like every other week with feedback taken on from members to provide the best training experience possible. I couldn't recommend the gym more for any and all training goals

Negative experience: Beware of joining this gym - it seems trying to cancel your membership is impossible (I have been trying for almost 5 months!), they take upto 2 weeks to respond to each email & will keep sending you letters demanding money off you - even when you have given them the proof of address you have moved away from the area (is this even needed?!) which will give you the OK to cancel?! Communication was poor from the beginning of trying to cancel, they obviously don't read previous emails on your reasoning to leave the gym and just ask you for money. Also an extortionate joining fee for what reason?! I was lied to upon joining that it would enable me to cancel my membership at ease (no charges) after the first entitial 12 months - apparently not the case. I have been a member of multiple gyms and never experienced bad customer service like this.

Fantastic experience: Great gym, clean equipment and amazing staff. There’s not much else you need from your local gym. It really caters for all with a spinning studio, extensive cardio and a wide range of weights. Worth a visit to meet the lovely staff who are very helpful will show you round the entire gym and make you comfortable before a simple sign up process and away you go with fingerprint recognition. Really a great experience.

Fantastic experience: This is a very welcoming and fantastic gym. The equipment is top class, with smooth movement on all pieces. Excellent weights area with everything you need. The variety of exercise classes they have means that you will find something that you will love and also, give everything a try because I can guarantee you will definitely enjoy other things too that you may not expect yourself to. I must say, the other members here are lovely and without a doubt you will get talking to people and then have a group of gym friends. Finally, what makes this place shine above anywhere else .... The STAFF!! They are the best, always on hand to help and genuinely interested in 'you'

Fantastic experience: Fantastic gym with a good variety of equipment and classes. It hasn't been open all that long so it has a really modern freash interior. The staff are superb, very friendly and helpful. Despite previously being a little gym-phobic and unsure of myself I feel very supported and motivated to reach my fitness goals with their guidance.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant gym has everything you need whether you like to strength train, function or general. The personal trainers are fantastic and I wholeheartedly recommend having one to one sessions it has transformed the way I work other and my confidence to work out forever ! I also had a sports massage this week which is an extra facility this gym offers, my legs felt incredible afterwards and I now know how to avoid damaging myself when training alone in future by not warming up properly. Really great facility and really supportive team working there.
