Fantastic experience: Needed a physio and so went to west 4 and saw Gaby for one hour consultation - very professional and great at breaking down what she was saying and what to do-even was able to do some of the exercises she was suggesting under her supervision in the gym although not a member which was a big bonus..would recommend both the gym and Gaby for being so good and knowledgable

Fantastic experience: Love this place. It has everything you need for a high intensity and varied workout. The team are friendly and knowledgeable, and well known in the neighborhood. I've done a lot of personal training with Sam, and he's been great fun to work with, personable, knowledgeable, and flexible to your needs. He helped me with strength training to supplement my half marathon and tennis training. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I've come here every year or so for the last decade when I'm in town on vacation. Without fail there are clean facilities, new training equipment, and friendly staff. A truly unique gym that can facilitate almost all gym goer's needs.

Fantastic experience: I have attended this gym for almost 6 years and I like the atmosphere and owners commitment to continuously improve the gym. While gym isn't the biggest one, it's smartly organised and has everything I need for functional training - a rack, a deadlift platform, set of kettlebells and dumbbells up to 40kg and even enough space for jumps and multiple exercise machines.

Fantastic experience: Been going weekly with a personal trainer for more than a year. Really friendly staff which rubs off on customers, no pressure or feeling that you’re not fit enough to match others, never too crowded, relaxing atmosphere in a fully professional exercise space in an old church. Great place, be hard pushed to consider anywhere else.

People of all different builds attend this gym. There is no judgement. Small gym but still enough equipment to go around. Overall pleasant atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: A very good gym. Though it's been five or so years since I was a member. I thought I would put down my thoughts. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. During my three or so years with the gym I was given several routines to follow all of which I worked through with a member of staff. They always put me right if I was doing something wrong without having to be asked. The equipment was always clean and there was always something I could use at the times I was there, which were usually weekday mornings. The price when I was a member was very reasonable I found. The changing rooms where very clean and had plenty of room for dressing. Shower facilities are also provided as one would expect. The lockers (when I was a member) were operated with a pound coin or a similar token which means you don't need to haul a lock along with you. Drinking water is provided from fountains for free and energy drinks are available to purchase at a reasonable price. The building would seem to be a converted school or such like which I felt gave it a for more friendly feel than the chain gyms. Another major plus was the fact you only had to give three months notice if you wanted to leave, which could be given at any time. This is unlike many gyms which run a year by year contract where you an only cancel your membership on a certain day in the year and if you mis that you may have to wait a full year before it is cancelled. All in all I was very satisfied and going there certainly improved my health and general physique. I really miss going there and only left when I moved out of the country. I would recommend the Gym to anyone in the are of all levels of fitness.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend West 4 Gym highly enough. Fantastic gym in an amazing location, lovely supportive team and a really friendly feel. Such a contrast to the faceless, big chain gyms. Paul is a brilliant trainer and I really enjoy my PT sessions.

Fantastic experience: Friendly local gym that has everything you need. Paul and Sam are both welcoming and helpful. All the equipment I need is there including a Power Rack and bench press track for all barbell work, plenty of kettle bells, spinning bikes and gymnastics rings. The price is fair and it's good to support the locals rather than another large chain.

Positive experience: This gym is quite new so very clean and spacious. I go quite early in the mornings so can't walk up to pretty much anything and use it. I have heard that during after work at 5pm it can be VERY busy

Fantastic experience: Since living in London, I wasn’t enjoying going to the gym until I found West 4 Gym. I had moved locally to the area and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a lot smaller than what I was used to but had everything I had needed. The owners, Paul & Sam are friendly and helpful and are finding new ways to elevate the gym equipment for their members. It’s a comfortable space to be able to train and not have to wait long or at all to use machines or equipment. Thanks West 4 for bringing my confidence back! I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Never too busy so no wait or getting in the way of everyone. Enjoyed the HIIT classes. Only joined for a short visit to London but would definitely visit again

Fantastic experience: I've spent most of my life staying away from gyms... But W4 Gym has turned the chips on my shoulders into rather challenging weights, and I feel better than ever! Weights and all, I'm floating on air. The gym has a great and friendly atmosphere, the staff are excellent! If you haven't checked out all the options of different types of training sessions the PTs offer - then DO! Thanks W4, for putting a spring in my step!!

Negative experience: Overcharged direct debit, ended up paying double for 5 months (£250 extra). Manager and staff insist that it's my own fault and refuse to return said money. If you want to go to a gym local to Chiswick, you're better off going to a different one.

Positive experience: Very nice independent local gym, friendly stuff , good relax atmosphere. I didn't give a 5 start because some basic equipment are not very standard. e.g weight plates sizes. Also the floor is a bit crooked. And there are no mirrors around the squat rack which makes its difficult to correct your technique. That being said, I still think it is a very good gym and I enjoyed training there.

Negative experience: I recently moved to the area and was looking for a gym (as there are a few in close proximity to my house). In order to find the right one I went to each of them for a training session. My experience at West 4 Gym was less then glamorous - I am a shy person and just about three months I started to regularly work out. After arriving at the gym there was no one at the desk and ringing the bell did not help. I walked over to a man who looked like a PT and apparently worked at the gym and wanted to ask if it is ok to get a short tour and maybe try the gym out. He said to go over his colleague. Went to the colleague he pointed me to, who was currently assisting someone. I did not want to disturb them, so I waited (so that she could see I am waiting to speak to her) for my turn. After two minutes without any reaction I briefly said that I would like to speak to her once she is done. After another five minutes she just said 'Just do your training' and went back on doing what she was doing. At that point I felt really unwelcome - got on the treadmill and ran for about 30 minutes (which by the way was pretty sticky) and left quickly afterwards. Long story short: I joined Virgin Active (Chiswick Business Park) and am extremely happy with the amazing and friendly service, the gym itself and the people I met there. Although I support small businesses I would never recommend this gym to anyone. Pity - it could be a really nice place.

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of this gym for four years now, and the only reason I'm leaving the gym is because I'm leaving the area. A very friendly gym. A decent amount of equipment and rarely so busy you have to wait for anything. Good music, too!

Fantastic experience: My review remains exactly the same as 12 months ago but now 5 stars ++ because of a management buyout. Essentially Paul and Sam believed in this gym and have invested their own money in new machines and equipment, new showers, new decor and an excellent treatment room. Don't waste money on gyms that you never visit and have bigger coffee areas than studios. This gym will cost you less and help deliver fitness goals and you'll want to go. Spend your savings on great instructors or treatments........below were my thoughts a year ago.....it's just got better. This gym for those that know it is a little gem. Difficult to put your finger on why as the machines and equipment aren't the best, the changing rooms aren't up to date and the decor isn't Virgin or Riverside but if you are honest about fitness and want to improve your physical lot then none of that really matters. It's more than good enough and has a real charm about it. I'm not saying that because it's full of people who can't afford those places because many of the members probably could. It is however a place you can go to and perhaps use the money you save on fancy monthly subscriptions on fantastic personal trainers, who work there either full time or use as a personal training base and are consistently busy working with a wide range of client of all ages and all abilities. Anyone is welcome from 16-85 from any background and all sorts of shapes and sizes with equal numbers of men and women. After 4 years it keeps on growing on me. London needs more gyms like this one.

Fantastic experience: I joined this gym when I moved back to Chiswick a few years ago, it's got everything I need and the PT's are always on hand. It's always been open whenever I've gone and for membership you can't get a better price anywhere else in the area.

Fantastic experience: Excellent compact gym, a fraction of the price of some nearby large chain gyms. Friendly staff, not overcrowded even at peak times. Regular social events. Striking building in converted church, provides suitable indoor environment in all weather conditions. Good range of cardio, weight machines & free weights. No frills but always kept in smart condition.
