Fantastic experience: I first found out about phoenix gym when my friend took me on a guest pass last year. I have recently bought a membership at this gym and I have got to say the facilities is brilliant, you get two free training sessions with membership and the person I had mine with was very kind and patient with me and I am pleased with how phoenix gym have made me feel welcome with great advice and brilliant customer service. I can’t wait to continue my journey of bettering myself at this incredible gym. I highly recommend Phoenix Gym to anyone who is thinking of joining a gym it is fantastic.

Fantastic experience: After coming here a few times on my brothers day pass membership, I had to join and I did yesterday. The facilities are amazing, the layout is perfect, air con and fans help with overheating (nothing worse than a hot gym) and the gym caters for everyone. I went at peak time and there was 2 cable machines I wanted to use, they were occupied but the room next door gave me great alternatives to hitting the muscles I wanted to hit for a brilliant workout. The equipment seems maintained well, its a very clean gym and everyone puts weights and plates back in the correct place. Niall :)

Positive experience: I wish I could give them 5 stars. But the gym is always freezing inside, and they’ll only turn on the heat if you ask them; which defeats the whole purpose of heating because it will take a while to heat up. I honestly don’t mind them increasing the membership fee to accommodate their heating cost.

Fantastic experience: Recently joined this gym after trying out a few others in the city since moving here from Leeds. Proper gym, no bells and whistles but great high quality equipment with multiples of each machine / bench. Can see how busy it is on the app before going but even at peak times it doesn’t feel busy due to how the gym is laid out. Staff are very friendly and everyone is there to crack on and work out.

Fantastic experience: Phoenix is an incredible gym with not only an amazing range of equipment but an abundance of it. There is always at least one free bench as well as squat rack which for many gyms is a rarity. The staff are all extremely helpful and welcoming. They offer a range of services, not just including PT sessions but also Muay Thai, kick-boxing and boxing 1-on-1’s. In addition, the value for money is amazing, especially considering the quality and quantity of equipment - even more so compared to commercial gyms such as puregym which phoenix worked out to be cheaper than monthly and yearly. Overall, the best gym I’ve ever been to.

Fantastic experience: For someone that thought she would ever get into using the gym and used to come on a guest pass with her partner and is now a member I love this place! Everyone is so friendly, the equipment is easy to use for a beginner and it's always so inviting and welcoming without feeling that people are staring at you! For a big girl that comes in in funky outfits I love it! Lorna is fantastic too!

Fantastic experience: I've been to a multitude of gyms now, this one has to overall the best gym. Good new equipment , lots of variety and the use of space is brill. The price is brilliant, the instructors are always welcoming and smiling, and a big thing is... it's clean! I've read the below reviews, and see that the Muhammed ali's of the word are moaning. I am aware that the boxing room has moved to a smaller room, however it's still a work in progress, there is still a boxing ring next door and there's still plenty of bags. If those people are that much into their boxing it upsets them, then I'd suggest going to a dedicated boxing club instead. However I'd thoroughly recommend this place!

All the staff treat you with respect and I always feel welcome, and the trainers that operate out of the gym are friendly and offer you pointers if you ask nicely. Ultimately the best gym in Norwich in my opinion.

Negative experience: Considered myself really lucky to have found this gym. A good range of facilities, with a dedicated boxing studio. Turned up last night to discover that the boxing studio has been moved into a poorly lit broom cupboard (I'm not exaggerating, much). The boxing studio wasn't always busy, so I understand the need to reduce the size of it, to maybe, half the room and the broom cupboard, as a spillover. What I find really annoying is the lack of consultation. It will have been very obvious that some members will have signed up purely for these facilities, but there were no warnings other than the rumors swirling about. The small boxing community at Phoenix Gym has met the same fate as the Powerlifters. We're too niche, too noisy and not commercially viable. Time to find somewhere else, gutted.

Fantastic experience: My favourite place!! Best gym I have ever been to, always improving, always a great atmosphere, always clean and tidy ( that's impressive!!) Amazing staff, always in a happy mood Plenty of options for your training , a really impressive boxing area with plenty of bags to drop your Plenty of parking spaces, open 7 days a week, amazing choice of personal trainers. What more could you wish for ? Have fun !

Positive experience: Decent gym probably one of the best overall in norwich however I do have a small complaint, the leg extension leg curl combo machine is not great it feels awkward and a big gym like this should be able to invest in seperate leg extension and curl machines. A fat pad bench would also be nice also as alot of the benches are quite slippery. The bag rule is also frustrating but can understand why they have it

Fantastic experience: This gym has never been so well equipped and as diverse both in variety of equipment new training spaces and seriously inspiring knowledgeable staff/ PT,s . It has a broad and varied membership base and has an open (everybody fits ethos.) There is a very friendly and encouraging atmosphere whether you are just starting out or a veteran to exercise! I am no longer extremely fit nor a trainer so going back to a place I used to workout at when i was extremely body confident might make one feel anxious after such a long break. The first thing somebody said as I walked in was: " Its so good to have you back " That,s just nice :) I know i have made the right choice signing up here. I have worked and trained in a wide variety of higher price tier health clubs in Norwich and London over the years as well as campus gyms and very simplistic old school lifters clubs. This gym offers me everything I could possibly want from all of these experiences whilst being clean well organised and laid out in such a way that every body is just getting on with exactly what they want to do with minimum fuss. I was surprised to see a really nice dance/group class fitness studio has been added where I had an amazing private 1 to 1 session with Lesha and experienced some Russian dance inspired core leg and back strengthening (without an audience) which was really cool. The cardio equipment has improved leaps and bounds from the old days Commercial grade Fan Air bikes as used in MMA and X Fit or just me and my little interval session,s are amazing and extremely time practical. a good mix of free runners and elliptical,s commercial treadmills rowers bikes and even a conveying stair machine! I also found the therapy room,s to be clean and comfortable and can recommend Kat Corrigan for her assessment and treatment advise for some lower back pain I needed clarification about. There is still plenty of stuff to explore once I have improved my fitness! An adult sized climbing rig with monkey bars besides a plethora of boxing bags even an area for Olympic rings/TRX and a loaded sled! basically this gym encourages you to grow but its unlikely you will outgrow it as it is always improving !

Also the staff are some of the loveliest people which makes for a perfect atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door !! Fantastic experience: I recently switched to phoenix from pure gym, the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. All of the staff have been extremely friendly, especially Karl and James, and if I ever have any questions they’ve always been happy to help.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming to Phoenix gym, on and off, for roughly over 10+ years now. I remember the first time I trained there as a teenage, early into my love for lifting weights and after only really training at leisure centres or more corporate gyms, coming to this big spit n sawdust place at the time then, seeing the wide selection and variation of equipment plus the big muscly dudes to match and thinking 'wow, this is a serious place to lift weights!'. Serious in the sense that it's got all you need but more enjoyable in the rather shared appreciation of exercising that fills the air through the members/visitors and staff alike. But it'd be wrong to think that this is just a place to lift weights, it's actually so much more than that. Here is a place that can really positively affect your whole lifestyle and keep you coming back for more. And I've met by chance so many similar minded people there, making new friends and bringing my own along, who all get the same buzz for being there. It's been fascinating seeing the change in Phoenix over the years, as I've not always been living in Norwich to go there sadly, but always coming back and feeling at home there with my own passion for exercise and seeing how the place has grown, evolved, expanded (i.e. boxing room, athletic far room, body scanners, nutritional vending machine, ClubRight app etc) and still fostering that air of becoming your best individually and collectively. Even with this pandemic we're in the midst of, I've been so proud of how Phoenix has stepped up and adapted (i.e. screens between cardio equipment, shelves for spray bottles and cloths on entry, regular cleaning down of equipment by staff etc) and I felt gutted when it had to close knowing it pulled out all the stops. Not forgetting also there's been many different staff members over the years, some still there from my earliest visits, and I tip my hat to them all for still to this day making me feel welcomed, appreciated and being on hand whether for specific training advice or just having a quick natter! They're all real ambassadors for better living and not just, for instance, maxing out a particular lift. It's no surprise to me that Phoenix is an award winning gym and I should think it'll go forward to scoop up many more awards still. Thankfully I've recently moved within about a mile of the gym now and consider Phoenix something like a spiritual sanctuary of sorts for my well being! I hope to be coming here for many years to come.

Fantastic experience: So pleased I decided to come back to Phoenix Gym. After training at a big name chain gym for a number of years, (only because it was closer to where I lived and had easy parking) I became increasingly frustrated. Yes it had a pool (which I didn't use) and classes (which I never attended), which Phoenix do not. But I'm saving 2 thirds of the monthly membership at Phoenix. Effectively not paying for stuff I don't need or want, and then some! The team at Phoenix Gym has clearly been busy during lockdown too. The gym looks clean, refreshed, with new equipment. Add to that, their ambition to make further improvements, it's only getting better. Compare that to my previous gym, which looked like someone had thrown dustsheets over the place and just left it during lockdown. Machines that were broken before, still broken. A lack of investment in equipment for all body parts going back years still not addressed, regardless of how many times I might point it out. And most noticeably, after years at my previous gym, I'm not sure any of the staff knew my name. Yet I can walk in to Phoenix after 7 years to be welcomed by name. That sort of personal touch makes you feel at home. Free WiFi, easy entry system for members and a great App that even tells you how busy the gym is before you leave your house or work. Brilliant! So, if you are looking for a well equipped, well serviced, clean and friendly gym, I'd definitely recommend Phoenix. Oh, and it's got free parking now too! See you down there

Fantastic experience: It's simply the best gym I've been too... ever and I've done a few . The equipment is clean and you don't have to wait to use anything. It's always clean. The staff is truly knowledgeable, ie. they will definitely make you reach your goals if you stick to their coaching. I've gone through 2000 steps a day to being able to walk over 6-7 miles a day and train about 10 hours a week in krav maga and calisthenics. And Phoenix gym and their coaches helped me and are still helping me getting there. And the other members of the gym are so friendly whether you're a beginner at the gym or not.

Fantastic experience: First time back in the gym since lock down. Phoenix has always been welcoming and professional, but they have really gone all out on the refurb. Wow! Open spaces, every piece of kit you could possibly need, including a 3D body scanner to measure yourself accurately. Their COVID measures are top drawer. Every person gets a spray bottle and cloth upon entry.

Fantastic experience: A great spacious gym, with a wide range of kit. The opening hours are great, plenty of parking and the price is incredibly reasonable. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Phoenix to anyone looking for a functional fitness gym with zero attitude. I've been training there for the last few years and have seen a lot of change. During Covid Phoenix really did do a fantastic job at supplying a clean and safe feeling environment. Allowing members to get back to some sense of normality.

Not only is it the best equipped, it has a great atmosphere, and it is the ONLY gym I have visited in the entire country that plays decent music!! Keep it up Phoenix!

Positive experience: Me and my brother traveled down from Barnsley for a family members funeral. Staff were very friendly and the gym was a good mix of new equipment and old school weights. Next time I am in Norwich again will have to call in.

Rarely have to wait to get onto the equipment you need, which is not the case for most other gyms in Norwich. Fantastic place to work out for all people with differing goals!

Positive experience: Great gym. Old school. Focus on the muscle not the insta crowd. Friendly staff that are happy to help. Equipment is always getting updated. 5 racks plus extra bench. Weights up to as heavy as you can lift. £25 a month. Showers. Lockers. Busy at 5 but not unmanageable. Pull up machines. Plenty bars to choose from. Deadlift area. Some sophisticated looking CrossFit area as well. Entire protein area with all the equipment you can buy.

Positive experience: Recently signed up to this gym and have so far found the place a great gym to train in, everyone is friendly and there is a plenty to offer. The range of machines and variability is the best I've seen and the boxing gym provides with something more that no one else seems to offer (especially in this price range). The only downside is the very poor conditions of the gentlemen's changing room - the showers are pretty revolting and smell even worse and in dire need for refurbishment - hopefully this will be on the cards soon. If this were sorted, the place would get 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: I am a returning member to Phoenix gym after being away through surgery. I was extremely impressed to see all the new equipment that has been invested in. As per the last time I was a member all the staff are polite, well mannered and knowledgeable in their field. The gym has a great atmosphere and i would thoroughly recommend it.
