Fantastic experience: For us, training is life, so an excellent facility is paramount. We moved the UK knowing we would settle near a gym that fit our needs. We found Arc, fell in love with the place, the people, the owners and all the strength training options and equipment. If they ever moved, we would follow. No gym compares. It's a welcoming and inspiring place to train amongst people of all shapes, sizes and abilities, and anyone you chat to is willing to give advice, help out, or just have a giggle. We feel very blessed to be part of the Arc community.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic place. Incredibly well equipped and with a great community that makes you feel at home. Genuinely good people with a passion for their gym!

Negative experience: Horrible place. This is the worst gym and staff I have ever seen in my entire life. AVOID at all cost. Don't be fooled by the fake reviews. I cancelled my membership in few days from signing up. Here is my experience at this appalling gym: Gym Workers quality and behavior: very low quality personality, extremely rude, unprofessional, no communication skills, no customer service facing skills. A guy called lee is the rudest and the most unprofessional worker I have ever seen throughout my entire life in 12 countries that I have lived in. Gym facilities: very old rusty equipments, very small and limited equipment, bad odor, smelly facility, toilets, etc. The place is very tiny it is like a garage converted to gym, you can't pass through the equipments, very risky you could easily get injured while passing through the equipments. AVOID.

Fantastic experience: ARC is perfect for me. It's a no-nonsense gym with very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming staff. Feels like a real community, best gym I've used by far.

Fantastic experience: Used a ClassPass credit as I was visiting the area for work - I have heard some ClassPass gyms are not very accommodating, but I as soon as I arrived I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Helen noticed I looked a little lost and gave me a whistle stop tour of the different areas & Brian also came to introduce himself while I was working out - there's a real community feel to this place and I had a very enjoyable workout away from home! It's got all the equipment you need (and a great outdoor area if you fancy getting some fresh air) - will definitely be using this gym as a pitstop while working away. Thanks for your hospitality!

Fantastic experience: BEST GYM!!! Never going back to a commercial gym again

Fantastic experience: Been a member of this gym for 1.5 years now. Due to my odd work schedule I find consistency difficult, and will often get into a good rhythm and then be thrown off by a series of events and never return, at least that has been my experience with previous gyms. But ARC Gym has been a different experience - super friendly staff who always welcome you and know your name. An amazing range of equipment, some of which I’d never seen at previous gyms, which keeps workouts varied and interesting. The other gym goers are friendly too, you start to recognise each other and the little nods of “hey” and a smile from your fellow gym members is all you need to feel at ease. Everyone shares, looks after equipment and helps you if needed. At least that has been my experience. Despite still struggling with consistency, ARC gym keeps me coming back. I have never felt more comfortable in a gym. Bonus shoutout to the great range of PT’s here, especially Eve - who I cannot fault. I’ve made the most progress I ever have with her guidance & ARC Gym.

Fantastic experience: Best gym in the area. It not only has all the equipment you could ever need but above all - the people, culture and sense of community is second to none. If you’re tired of soulless commercial gyms this is the place for you!

Fantastic experience: The owners are very friendly and gym is very well equipped. Calibrated plates and power bars for powerlifters, an outside strongman area and lots of machines for bodybuilders. The gym is tidy, clean and a nice place to be!

Negative experience: I wish there was a zero star option as this place doesn't deserve even zero score. This is the worst gym I have ever seen in my entire life. Don't be fooled like me by the fake reviews written here. These are either their friends or paid fake reviews. Disgusting gym run by extremely rude and immature staff. There is an extremely rude person his name lee, he is the rudest person I have ever experienced, grumpy uncomfortable face, I don't know how they could hire people like that in a customer service facing role. Very small place probably your home gym is bigger than this so called gym. Very few number of machines cramped in tiny space, you can not even pass through the machines. The place has serious hygiene issues, they don't have touch-less sanitation facilities, they have put one cheap bottle hidden at the corner which means that everyone touches it will be infected, since I came here I constantly got sick, very disgusting and smelly. Equipments are extremely old and falling apart. Parking is a nightmare, you can't find a parking in a very tiny place like this, so you will end up going back home after wasting your time. I regretted trying the place, I was fooled by those fake reviews. I would never come back to this trap again, stay away from this bad place.

Fantastic experience: Been training for almost 2 years now and have made a lot of progress here, ARC is a very welcoming gym that has formed a great, supportive community with a wide range of knowledge across the many types of weight training. There is a solid variety of equipment and the staff are all brilliant and super helpful. Looking forward to returning after lockdown!

Fantastic experience: As a complete novice at the whole strength and conditioning thing I thought I'd never step foot in what I classed as a "big boys and girls gym"! But at ARC there is none of the stigma that goes with all of the strength and conditioning world... The staff are unbelievably friendly and have so much knowledge between them.. The trainers are brilliant (shout out to Beth PT :) I don't know if I'm allowed to plug her on this review but I am, because she's the first trainer I've had where Ive actually looked forward to the session. I have such a laugh with her and she's taught me so much already. She pushes me to lift and do way more than I thought I could which is awesome and incorporates things to help with my many injuries forming now I'm getting too old to play rugby :( ) I never understood why people just hung around in the gym but now I find myself just sitting at the smoothie bar for ages before going home just chatting away ( obviously pre covid) . I have no idea how they manage to fit so much kit and equipment in the place!! I dont know what alot of it is for but with their help I'm learning ha ha! (like I said I'm new) And if it's not the staff helping... Its someone else... And I don't mean in a bad way... The people who come here are always there to give you that little tip to help you along or be there as a spotter to save you getting squashed under a bar. They are encouraging and quite often I've heard people cheering others on to get that new PB! It's soooooo clean and spotless... Everything is maintained to a stupid high standard... They are constantly getting new things... Latest addition on its way... Physio room!!! I'm pretty sure this is going to be well used. I've been at all times of the day and never really had to wait to use anything... It's not all weights either... There's a cardio bit upstairs too again with top notch kit... Outside its like world's strongest man play room! With big round boulders, tyres, bars and alsorts... During all this covid mlarky they have been brilliant... When open they have all the measures in place to keep us safe.. When they have been forced to close making it a tough time for them they haven't just sat back and worried... Nope... They decided to build up and and improve the gym instead... I never stick to gyms or stick with it untill coming to ARC... Now I find myself actually missing it! Shock horror to me!! (rubbish times to find a new hobby tho) Roll on the re-opening!! :)

Fantastic experience: After suffering a traumatic brain injury I didn’t think I would ever recover in being able to go out confidently in public again. I was urged by my wife (a physiotherapist) to join and do some exercise at ARC Gym. I hesitantly agreed, and it was the friendliness of the staff and general atmosphere that filled me with joy, almost like a second family and home, which helped me (along with my great trainer at Team GG, Graham, become the most confident, fittest and strongest I have ever been in my life.

Fantastic experience: As soon as you enter you feel unbelievably welcomed. Clean and hygienic and Great up to date kit and facilities. If there was a suggested area to improve would be separate toilet and shower. Love Arc and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Well done team.

Fantastic experience: A really friendly and well equipped gym. They offer personal training sessions and classes. There is an outdoor training area with stones, tyres, yokes etc. Due to covid restrictions the gym have capped the number of people training, so a booking system is in place. Parking is available on site.

Negative experience: Have a lot to learn about customer service. Have been taking £52 per month from my account during lockdown when the gym was inaccessible and when they re-opened expected me to pay another £52 upfront when they already have my money for a full month. When I raised this with them and requested a refund they claimed I was lying about the upfromt payment and also claimed that I do not have a contract with them. They then accused of me of only asking for a refund claiming I have joined another gym which I have not, I just need my money back for my family. They are not the only ones who have been affected by Covid-19 and lockdown.

Fantastic experience: Until I used a day pass at the Arc I didn't realise how much unfulfilled my previous gym made me feel. From the variety of the equipment, the knowledge of the personal trainers and the staff to the little things like lockers which don't need coins or locks and the powerful showers that don't need to have a button pushed every 90 seconds. It's a local business and they deserve to be the biggest and best in town. So very glad I signed up!

Fantastic experience: After 6 years of training, I know a good gym when I see one! ARC Gym is up there with one of the best I’ve ever trained in. The reason for this is because they have created a great environment that brings together various types of training equipment into one complete gym. This gym is suitable for CrossFitters, Power Lifters, Olympic Weightlifters, Body Builders as well as general gym users. Not only this, the quality of the gym equipment is incredible and second to none. For example, all of their machine equipment is manufactured in the UK and to the highest standard. The staff are also very welcoming, polite and helpful - I highly recommend this gym whatever your goal may be.
