Fantastic experience: I can honestly say this is the best gym I’ve ever been to. The staff are so friendly and take time to talk to you. The facilities are beautifully clean. It’s a real pleasure to go to Unit 8.

Fantastic experience: Before joining Unit 8 Gym I was NOT a gym person. Now the gym, this gym in particular, is my happy place. Unit 8 has the most incredible team and such a supportive and community focused atmosphere. I love it.

But its not just about that, as I have also gained... gained confidence, flexibility, muscle, friends and just so much more!! My mental health has improved so much, and it just took that first step to get back into the gym and start. You all gave me your individual experience and expertise and energies in my work outs and even helped me win a few in house comps!! Fantastic experience: Since its relaunch Unit 8 gym goes from strength to strength, i can’t praise it highly enough. The equipment and staff are second to none and the music doesn't make your ears bleed! If you’re looking for a gym in South Hams/Plymouth try this one, you won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience: I love this gym! Me and my boyfriend and I started at the beginning of the year. We had a great introduction with Simon, constant support from James and the others who've been down to earth and professional. Equipment and the room are always immaculately clean. I've never been a gym guy as I find the ones I used to go to cringey. This is a welcome to visit. Highly recommended

There’s a real community spirit inside the gym. The gyms always immaculate and clean. The kit is also of a very high quality & standard. Would highly recommend to anyone who is thinking of joining a gym in Ivybridge or the surrounding area.

Fantastic experience: I decided to join unit8 gym 6 weeks ago. After having my second baby I wanted to get back into shape and do something for myself however having never stepped foot in a gym before I was hesitant and felt vulnerable. I went to the open day and all those feelings instantly went away. It was warm and welcoming, all the equipment is new and the place is kept very clean! 6 weeks later and I am loving it! All staff are amazing and the other gym member are too. If I ever need help with equipment they all help and I never feel uneasy or unwelcome. I highly recommend this gym, there’s not 1 thing I can find fault with.

As a large middleweight overweight guy with zero confidence - I was made to feel welcome and part of the community there, lost a lot of weight, and it’s staying off with their help. Fantastic experience: Simply the best! The most supportive and encouraging gym I’ve been to. I spent the past year training for an event, the team helped me with workout plans and checked in to see how I was getting on with my training. I’m back now after my adventure and the 6am team are motivational as always. Gordon and the team are friendly and approachable unlike other places I’ve trained. It’s one big family! If you’re unsure- just call in and have a chat, I’m 100% sure you won’t regret it.

The vibe is great, a complete mix of people with different goals. I would highly recommend Unit 8 to anyone.

Ive really struggled with my fitness journey over the last 12 months but the staff at unit 8 have provided plenty of encouragement and support throughout my journey. The gym itself is modern, clean and maintains a great atmosphere all year long. I look forward to continuing my training here!

Fantastic experience: I have been using this gym regularly for the past 18 months. It is the first time in my life that i have felt comfortable in a gym. The facilites are great and the staff are brilliant, always helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Other clients are friendly too so a happy environment to work out. I can't recommend it enough.

The first gym I have ever been to where people laugh and enjoy working out and share views on how to meet your body goals and that's not even the staff, who are equally amazing. Fantastic experience: Unit 8 is such a welcoming and friendly environment. The equipment is amazing and kept to a really high standard. Everything is always clean and put away in the correct places. Whenever you go you instantly feel at ease when working out because everyone is so friendly, if you ever need to ask a question or advice there is always someone on hand willing to help. Cannot recommend more!

Fantastic experience: I'll admit from the photos online it looked a bit "gym bro esque", but I was looking for a gym near where I live, and I managed to get a free weekly pass, so figured why not! I'm glad I went, the place is small compared to other commercial gyms, but the staff are absolutely delightful and friendly - Woodie, the owner came to say hi, which was very nice of him and he seems like a genuine guy who just want people to enjoy the space. The gym equipment is top notch and really well taken care off, it's clean and doesn't smell bad either. As a woman, I didn't feel uncomfortable where in my old gym, I did. There's no tripods, men leering or big groups of 17 year olds messing about. It's a lovely quality gym for people who just enjoy working out.

Woodie and the team have made this place such a friendly, fun and welcoming environment to work out in, I've been coming for 4 months now and I've enjoyed every minute. You see a range of different ages and sizes down here it's very refreshing, everyone is supportive and encouraging! The equipment is top notch and the atmosphere is always a nice one very grateful for this space.

Fantastic experience: I started using Unit8Gym when I signed up for the 16 week transformation having watched another members very successful journey. I signed up feeling apprehensive at first having not exercised for a long time but was very soon put at ease with the super friendly, encouraging and experienced team. I've lost 10kg but the changes to my mental wellbeing, health and strength have been life changing and I feel amazing. I'm now a member and wouldn’t be without this place. Unit8Gym is an excellent all round community gym - thoroughly recommended.

Fantastic experience: 6 months ago I had never stepped into a gym, and was quite dismissive. At 64 and unfit I decided I wanted to try and keep active. I nervously entered Unit 8 and was soon put at my ease but Woodie and the team. I had a couple of PT sessions and now go normally every other day. Unit 8 is a very friendly well equipped gym that welcome people of all fitness levels. If you're reading this go down and have a chat. It has improved my life and it could improve yours. Time for an update review for Unit 8 gym. I am approaching the right old age of 66 and still try and get to the gym every other day. I go to the gym primarily to feel better, and it works every time. I have lost 3 inches off my waist, lost half a stone, increased my fitness level hugely (without any dieting), and made many new friends. Since Unit 8 became under new management at the beginning of the year, the friendly all inclusive atmosphere has been enhanced. Unit 8 is still a big 5 stars from me.

Fantastic experience: I joined the gym on the 16 week P/T transformation course, having decided that I needed to get fit and loose some weight. Never having been in a gym before, at 66 it was a little daunting. However, everyone at the gym could not have been more helpful and supportive through the 16 weeks, especially Woody, Simon and Cam. The gym is very well equipped and all the clients friendly. I did struggle with the diet, as it was 16 weeks of the same food every day, but got used to it in the end. After the 16 weeks, I was 9kg lighter, (10kg after 17 weeks.), and my body trimmer. I also improved my eating habits, no more large portions!. A massive thank you to everyone at Unit8, could not have done it without you. Am now a gym member.
