Fantastic experience: All the facilities you could need with a friendly local feel, much better experience than large chain gyms I’ve used in the past.

Positive experience: I've recently rejoined the gym after about 20 years (I'm 65 now). Really enjoying being back despite my aches and pains after each visit. It's a nice friendly atmosphere and not intimidating as I'd imagined it to be. Gradually learning how to use the many pieces of equipment. Would highly recommend.

Positive experience: Great local gym. Friendly approachable staff & one of the only gyms to do a real hr long body pump class. My only criticism is that the equipment needs updating, especially the steps & bars etc. for the classes. Be nice to have something like Les mills stuff in there as the current equipment is on it’s last legs.

Fantastic experience: Recently had a trial here and then joined. All of the staff are really friendly, the gym itself has a nice, chilled and relaxed vibe and accommodates all levels and abilities of fitness. Really impressed

Fantastic experience: Me and a friend recently started attending the classes at fortnocks and there really good classes and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. It doesn't matter if your advanced or a beginner they will adjust the class accordingly. The gym itself is always clean and tidy x

Fantastic experience: I absolutely recommended Fortnocks. These guys have helped and encouraged me to lose 2 stone so far. Welcoming , made to feel part of a team in classes and everyone is friendly. Doesn’t matter what size or level of fitness you are you will feel comfortable and able to train without feeling self concious. Found myself a great group of people and got my mojo back.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member since January and found the location and parking perfect,the atmosphere along the with friendly members and staff all help to create an enjoyable training session.There is a good mix of equipment to suit everybody's needs and structured classes at various times of the day make this an ideal facility to exercise .

However I joined here about 6 weeks ago and now I look forward to coming to the gym, this place has a great community friendly feel about it and I love that. The classes are brilliant and everyone is super friendly which makes you feel at ease. Fab!

Fantastic experience: Fortnocks has been my gym for many years whenever I am back in town and it is by far the best gym in the local area. The space is great, friendly and the owners are extremely welcoming, along with everyone that attends this gym! The equipment is good and it’s only getting better! Every time I return it’s improved one way or another! 100% would recommend if you’re looking for a gym in the area to join!

Fantastic experience: I've absolutely loved working out at Fortnocks. I joined at the start of April and it is by far my favourite gym that I have attended (I am in uni at Bournemouth so when I'm down there I attend different gyms but always wish I was back at Fortnocks). The atmosphere and aesthetic of the gym is great, and although smaller than other gyms I've been too, this is actually one of the factors I love most about this gym. The community surrounding Fortnocks is also amazing. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help and assist, especially as a 'newbie'.

Fantastic experience: My brother Richard had recommended the circuit training class at Fort Knox Health Club. He said, it will get you fitter and we have a laugh. He told me about the charismatic fitness trainer called Mac. So, I decided to give the class a try. I have been going to Fort Knox, Kingswinford for about 3 years now and I have definitely improved my fitness, but not only that I enjoy the atmosphere there and I like to see Mac. I am also a member of one of big gyms in Brierley Hill which is closer to home for me, but quite honestly I enjoy my self more at Fort Knox and I get pushed along by Mac and that's what I need. I would recommend Fort Knox Health Club to anyone who is looking for a local friendly gym. Mark Evans, Brierley Hill

If you’re on the fence theyll let you have a free session to try it out. Plenty of classes (although I’m yet to try) and opening hours are a dream! Thanks fortnocks!

Positive experience: Fortnocks I’ve only been a member for a short time so I’m still finding my way. The gym is offering a free T-shirt for a Google review so I thought I’d submit one. This is a small local gym that oozes with friendliness and inclusion. It feels like a community. One of the owners, Greg, is extremely friendly and personable. He took the time to introduce himself and ask me about my day the first time we met and even waved across the gym whilst he was taking a class the last time I saw him. The gym is tidy and clean and there is lots of equipment as well as classes to take advantage of. All that said the gym is a bit “rough around the edges” in some respects. There are a few things I’d personally like to see improved/implemented so here is some constructive feedback. The merchandise section of the website is broken. I submitted a query on the website before joining to see if there was anywhere I could lock up my bike when using the gym, I never received a response from this. I tried multiple times to join online but the page kept failing to submit my information. In the end I had to join over the phone (in fairness perhaps this is just isolated to me but this was my experience). Speaking of the phone it is not always easy to get someone to pick up (I managed to get through to join on my third attempt). The sauna has been out of action for some time as has one of the treadmills. It’s not possible to use the open space area to conduct your own personal workouts if there’s a group class on, which there is frequently. Perhaps the group classes could be moved to the studio so that the open space area is always available for anyone who wants to use it in the same way as the machines are. I don’t know how practical this is but just a passing thought. There is no security on site. Anyone can walk right into the gym at any time, there is a check in system but this is rarely if ever enforced and you can just walk by it to the facilities. My first time using the gym for my free trial there was no one at reception so I walked in and used the gym and then left and no one even knew I was there. It would be good if you had to have a badge or card to even access the building. Finally, although I don’t require a 24/7 gym later opening times on a weekend, particularly a Sunday, would be appreciated. Overall it has been a positive experience. I’m glad I signed up and I’m intending on utilising my membership at least 4 times a week. I’m sure Fortnocks will help get me into shape

Fantastic experience: I've been a member at fortnocks for over 10 years now. It's a real gem of a gym, plenty of equipment for both cardio and weight training. Over the last year or so there has been a lot of investment in new equipment and improvements made throughout by the new management team. Its a friendly place with a good atmosphere. Much better than any of the large gym chains in my opinion.

Great range of equipment which is always being updated. It’s lovely and quiet which I love. Opening hours are good and convenient. Really impressed at the gym and great value for money. Having left a chain gym I’m loving my time there. Looking forward to continuing my fitness journey at Fortknocks. :)

Fantastic experience: Since the new ownership there has been an increased and continued influx of revenue leading to updating of machinery and interior renovations. The atmosphere is inclusive for all ages and experiences and led by an approachable management team. A great place to train and after 7yrs here can fully recommend it.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member for a few ‘whiles’. The gym is friendly and has a good range of activities. Staff and members are welcoming and supportive. There are a range of users across all age range who have varying goals from general health to more serious athletes. New management have improved the equipment and are continuing to make incremental changes. Worth every penny for me and a big part of life since joining. Other gyms hadn’t worked out for me before.
