Fantastic experience: Hands down best gym in Wakefield. Great equipment, good community feel and a solid team of people running the show. Can tell they put the effort in to listen to their members and try new things - always seem to be investing in the gym. I don’t live in Wakefield but make semi frequent visits - high up on the to do list is go train at A Star. Reasonably priced as well. Keep it up.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing gym. I started here 2 years ago, scared of what to do and a total gym novice. This is literally the most friendly place. Keith has created a wonderful community with the best equipment, fantastic PTs and a fab atmosphere but equally it’s totally inclusive. No one would feel intimidated. Fantastic experience: I joined A Start a few years ago. I must say it has been an incredible experience so far. From the moment I walked in, staff member Lizzie greeted me with warmth and enthusiasm, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Lizzie is heart & soul of this place, she's always there with biggest smile you can possibly find, no matter the bad British weather some people say... keep it positive! If you had a bad day, Lizzie will make you smile 100%. "I will see you tomorrrroooow, keep smiiiiling!!!" she shouts at you when you finished, leaving you with no other option but coming back again. Your first visit at A Star is free of charge, so you can play around and make up your mind if you like it or not. The community at A Star is top-notch, everyone is very friendly and supportive. Fantastic people to be around. I've had a pleasure of meeting fellow members, whom today I call my best friends and spend time with outside the gym environment. Great equipment, positive energy, motivation, big-smile, laugh, good-times are words to describe A Star Gym. "Lift Heavy" is something I should add to my own vocabulary too - Go Hard or Go Home!

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym! Always a really good atmosphere & the best music playing to help you keep going strong for your work out. The equipment is great, the gym is always spotlessly clean and all the staff and members are really welcoming & friendly, especially Lizzie on reception! :). This is the first gym I’ve been to where I don’t feel intimidated or judged, and have the confidence to train on my own.

Ive been to a few over the years but ASTAR is one ive stuck with as its a great environment to workout in (not like the sterile corporate ones) All the staff are friendly and there's a mix of ages, men and women too so you wont feel out of place there..... If you're looking for a new gym give a go!

Fantastic experience: The best gym in wakefield, the equipment is always clean, all the people who go there are friendly, most of all the staff are there to help no matter wat from the min you walk in.

Fantastic experience: Astar muscle and fitness is a very welcoming gym and you always get greeted with a smile in reception. The atmosphere is what makes this gym along with some of the best equipment there is whatever your goal may be, Keith (the gym owner) is always around if you need a helping hand with anything. When you’ve finished your session you can also grab a meal and/or they also offer a wide range of supplements, I’ve been training here over 10 years and I’d never choose anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: As a bit of a veteran when it comes to training, I’ve trained at lots of gyms in the area over many years and AStar for me is the best out of all of them, hands down! It has a real family vibe minus the ego’s, and attitude present in most gyms. Just a friendly bunch of membership. This gym has class equipment, top tunes and all the staff and PT’s are a credit to the cause. Long live AStar! Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: This place has a higher food hygiene rating than most restaurants in Wakefield, and it's all thanks to the crew working there, especially Lizzie. It's an old-school gym atmosphere with brilliant equipment, all kept tidy and in perfect working order. Not only that, but the regulars are a great bunch and are all willing to help the people around them. Get yourselves down!

Fantastic experience: Amazing gym with the best manager ever (Liz)! The entire gym is really well equipped, always clean and tidy and staff always on hand to help if you need it. Incredibly knowledgeable PTs that cover all sorts of different approaches, depending what you want. Marina is my PT and she's awesome! Highly recommend this place. Motivating environment and genuinely nice people around. As Liz would say, keep smiling!
