Fantastic experience: PT gym, enjoying every session
Fantastic experience: Absolutley life changing. The quality of the equipment, coaches and knowledge is great. The format of the programmes is perfect, I was worried that it would be large group based sessions but it's the opposite. At any one time the sizes of the groups are managed well so that you gain valuable coaching and are able to work on your custom training plan set out by your coach. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and the coaches go the extra mile to work with you and discuss your goals. I have been struggling for motivation since before covid and the team at roots actually makes it exciting. Down to earth people who focus on what's sustainable for your goals no b's**t. I have seen huge differences and amazing progress, the booking system and online tools are great and easy to use. I really needed help with my form, choice of exercises and nutrition Andy has changed my understanding completely and all of the team know exactly how to guide you. For anyone who may be in a similar situation which is to burn fat and gain muscle/strength, I can assure you the difference I feel after altering my workouts and form thanks to Andy is incredible. I have burned a lot of fat, I am stronger and I am becoming more confident in my body and figure. Even the psychological improvement just from the caring and guiding nature of the team and the training is enough to make it worth it. It's the best investment I have ever made.
Fantastic experience: I've been going here about 3 months now having previously trained at home. It's got a great welcoming and friendly atmosphere with people of all ages, shapes and abilities. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Not only has my strength improved, but my Fantasy Football team is doing much better! Thanks for the tips.

Fantastic experience: Roots is run by amazing PT's that know exactly what you need. I can't imagine ever going anywhere else for my fitness and feel the best I've ever felt. Super easy to book in onto classes to fit around my busy work/training schedule, small group training means you're getting the focus you need, as well as always having your PT there to direct and push. Andy, Matty and Jamie are all amazing at what they do for all of their clients! If you've been thinking about joining a new gym for a while but don't know where to start, give Roots a try - you won't regret it!
Fantastic experience: Recommended by a friend as I needed to sort my Heath and fitness out. Contacted Roots and spoke to Andy, I felt he knew what he was talking about and very informative. I signed up for 6 week kick start small group course. I am loving it ( groups of no more than 4 is brilliant ) The gym is very clean, well equipped and is perfect. The trainers I have been working with Jamie and Ethan have been spot on. Pushed when I needed pushed but never over the top. 4 weeks left of the program and I am already seeing changes in my fitness and health.
Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Andy since 2020 and in that time feel like I’ve learnt so much from him. He’s massively helped grow my confidence to feel like I can carry on my squats and deadlifts in a regular gym. I absolutely love Roots, everyone who goes is lovely and all PTs are friendly and supportive you’re always made to feel so welcome. Hello Barry (if that is your real name!).Whilst I am appreciative that you have managed to leave us this glowing review in spite of having never stepped foot in our gym, or spoken to any of our staff, it does make me feel as though I should return the favour!Remember that BBQ you hosted on the 25th December 1908? Allow me to review that for you:The food was subpar, the chimney sweep got soot all over the suckling pig, and to be truthful the whole thing was run by an incompetent host! The only plus point was when a portly gentleman dressed in red and white arrived in his reindeer-drawn flying sleigh and dished out some wonderful presents to everyone. I got a magic lamp!Cheers for this fake review Barry ; )

Having been so nervous about gyms previously, Roots completely rewrote whatever presumptions I had and provided me with the most positive gym experience I've ever had.
Fantastic experience: Excellent gym, filled with quality equipment and knowledgable PT’s. The guys take time to explain the routines and make sure you are doing the exercises correctly. As someone who is not a expert gym goer the big thing for me is I feel comfortable and happy which builds my confidence .... definitely recommend, a great place to train !!

Fantastic experience: Anyone considering a bespoke workout, provided by caring and very knowledgeable, friendly staff need to give this place a go. As a complete gym novice, and not exactly 21 anymore, I didn't feel uncomfortable about my lack of fitness or knowledge as the PT made me feel completely at ease. A specific programme was put together for me focused on my goals, but tailored to a long term injury impact. The lads are all very welcoming, know their stuff and it's a great place to work out. Sessions are in small groups of 4 at a time, catering to all levels of ability. Can't recommend this team highly enough!
Fantastic experience: Great environment, ideal for everyone from beginners to experienced gym goers. Personalised programs based on your own goals and training preferences. Although booked in small groups (max 4) its not a 'class' format so no worries on keeping up with the group, just working through your own program with support from your coach. 100% recommended.

Fantastic experience: Originally, I went to Roots because of its location, yet it seems that it was the best decision (even if based on the wrong reason !). Having a PT and an appointment system is really working well and getting me to the gym which I probably would not do otherwise. I did not think I was into "weights", yet now I love to see the steady progress with the weights soaring and me, getting stronger. Really helpful, serious team.
Fantastic experience: Roots is unlike any other gym I have trained in (and that’s quite a few). It’s the closest you can get to 1 on 1 personal training at a fraction of the price. Maximum 4 in a group means you get top class coaching in a motivational environment. My confidence has grown so much in terms of managing my nutrition (I would say diet but it doesn’t feel like one), learning how to use free weights and maximising each workout to its full potential. The booking system is flexible and simple to use, which means that training can fit around my schedule whenever I need it to. If I am lacking motivation, having a session pre-booked ensures I’ll always turn up regardless, and I ALWAYS feel better afterwards!

Fantastic experience: So far I have been attending Roots for about 8 month. In this time I have lost weight and become much stronger. The facility is clean, well equipped, the trainers are friendly and make the whole experience relaxed, the sessions are tough but safe and comfortable. Manage your subscription and session through an easy to use app- I would highly recommend for the price, by far the best value for money in the north Tyneside area. Read on for more detail! The facility is well equipped and there are 3 trainers each with their own separate space within the unit, each trainer has up to 4 clients per session, there is some crossover but you will never struggle for space or for kit. I mostly do strength training with some cardio elements - I find that the sessions push you to your limit but not beyond so that you cause injury, trainers are incredibly attentive, they always check that the right muscles are being activated and if you mention any discomfort or pain they always have a solution to eliminate that, so communication is key, I’ve never felt bad about mentioning a ‘niggle’. The trainer I use is Matty, and he is incredibly easy going and always has some chat throughout sessions, he has frequently adjusted my plan when I have reached the maximum in that particular exercise, this also keeps the sessions from getting repetitive, I have 3 sessions per week which is more than enough, each session per week is different again helping to give variety but also consistency so you can see your progress over weeks/months. Sessions are managed through an app, you can see what you’ve done in weeks before and weeks ahead, you can book sessions and you can see which exercises you are doing in each session, the app also tracks day to day week to week progress so you never have to remember what progress you made in the past. I feel that at roots I have a team who are truly interested in my wellbeing, they are there to push and make sure you are constantly improving but never do this at the expense of your health, members are all looked after equally and there is no ‘alpha’ ego where you feel that you can’t question any part of your training. I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and look forward to what’s to come in the future! Some other great things I haven’t mentioned are; The couples discount! A referral bonus The Christmas social! Fantastic experience: I started at roots last year when I joined to do their 8 week challenge. After the 8 weeks I left to do my own thing for a while, but during covid, when we were allowed to start meeting outdoors in small groups, I jumped at the chance to do small group outdoor sessions with the roots guys. Since indoor gym work has been allowed, I've went back to doing small group personal training with Matty. It's a great environment. Personalised plans that work for you, no more than 3 other clients in a session with you. I feel much safer training here than in one of the bigger gyms. It's also good fun, we all have a bit of a giggle together. If you want to get fit in a safe environment, this is the place for you. I can't recommend roots and their amazing team highly enough!
Fantastic experience: I started with Roots in June 2019 after having surgery on my foot and after leaving another gym whose focus was on HIIT style training and a diet that was close to starvation. I was losing all motivation and wanted to get stronger and tone up. I came to the gym to meet with Andy who sat down and acted like he had as much time as I needed which was great because my anxiety was through the roof; I was comfortable at my other gym, I was terrified of gaining weight by changing my work outs and I was worried i would be intimidated because I hadn’t really got a clue. He explained everything to me and I signed up. The gym does looks scary; there’s no cardio equipment in sight and to me, that was a challenge; just loads of machines I didn’t know how to work. Anyway, I haven’t looked back since. Andy is my PT and the head coach but all the other trainers (Matt and George) are the same: non judgmental, open, flexible and honest. Everyone at that gym is down to earth, everyone has a bit of a laugh and everyone has the ability to laugh at themselves which is just what you need! It’s not a miracle worker; if you don’t follow what they tell you do, you won’t lose weight or become stronger, but if you follow their advice you’ll do brilliantly. The price can seem expensive but when you consider what you get for that price in terms of number of session, time with your trainer and nutrition advice it’s incredibly cheap. Not only that but you have to think about how much your fitness, confidence and ultimately, happiness is worth. Absolutely brilliant gym!
Fantastic experience: Impressive facility. All new equipment, no waiting and a personal trainer experience. Excellent choice if you’re like me and not a fan of training in-front of a busy gym or of the fees that come with that. In and out in an hour fifteen.
