The Jiu Jitsu Sanctuary

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to TJJS now for 2 months as part of the REORG programme. Jez, jolie, will and mason have been extremely accommodating to me having never tried the sport before. The team have been nothing short of exceptional in their delivery & instruction throughout the classes. TJJS has fostered such a friendly atmosphere where egos are left at the door and everyone is here to learn the sport, people from all levels helping each other, as it should be. I’ve managed to try most of the classes at TJJS, from beginner to all levels and even Muay Thai. I want to take a moment to thank Jez for his tutorship, patience and professionalism in the short period that I have been coming. I can’t wait to harness my skills further under his mentorship. I also couldn’t think of a better place to learn BJJ, the facilities at this place are second to none and the hygiene is top notch. Thanks again TJJS & REorg for this amazing opportunity & experience.

Fantastic experience: I recently dropped in at the jiu jitsu sanctuary while I was in town for a week visiting family. The facility is excellent and everyone there was very friendly and welcoming. I attended an open mat first, then returned for a technique class with the head instructor Jez, and both were excellent. I’ll definitely be dropping by again and would highly recommend the gym to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I first went along to a trial class around a month ago as a complete beginner and was hooked instantly. Jez and the team have been so welcoming and have created a fantastic atmosphere in the gym. Cannot recommend it enough to come along and give it a go.

Fantastic experience: Great place to train. Excellent facilities and coaching. Very friendly and welcoming and very clean. Sessions tailored for everyone, competition classes, women only, gi, no gi, over 50s for those of us who move at a more sedate pace.

Fantastic experience: The Jiu Jitsu sanctuary is by far the best place to train BJJ and Muay Thai, staff are incredible and extremely experienced. Myself and my two daughters train here and we all love how welcoming it is, no pressure like other gyms locally. The facilities are by far the best in Essex if not the country, also a state of the art gym and wellness centre all in the same building, what more could you ask for!! Come down give them a try you won’t be disappointed!!

Fantastic experience: Great Gym , the coach Jez is lovely top Bloke. Great Jujitsu out of a host of previous gyms I’ve been to this is the best one. The mats are very soft so great for wrestling. Coach always puts effort in to go round and get your technique bang on before he moves on. Great vibe and suitable for all ages also. No dangerous partnering so you don’t need to roll with much heavier or older / younger people it prevents injuries on the mat. Also has great Muay Thai coach young mma guy but his striking is top level. They run classes 4-5 time a week also. ☺️

Fantastic experience: Left another local gym to head here. Haven’t looked back. Jez and Jolie are both great coaches with a plethora of knowledge to share. Welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, and intense when you want it to be. Couldn’t ask for better facilities.

Fantastic experience: A sanctuary in every sense. Good people with good humour, great black belt coaches and the ability to improve jiu jitsu in a safe space. Advanced classes, over 50s, women only and various kid classes. Something for everyone. The performance centre is a great addition to the club for those wishing to improve their strength and conditioning for the mats. It is rare to have all this under one roof so it’s a fantastic offering overall.

Fantastic experience: Finally a gym that feels more like a home. This is all down to Jez, Mason and the people that train there. Not to mention the place is the nicest looking gym to train at in the area. Couldn’t recommended enough.

Fantastic experience: Having gone the other local gyms, this gym not only has real black belts teaching to a very high standard but also a fully equipped gym downstairs, and there currently building a recovery centre, my daughter also trains here and has progressed even further! No brainer, give it a go.

Fantastic experience: The Jiu Jitsu Sanctuary stands out as a state of the art modern facility. They offer classes for beginner to advance levels, Kids classes, Women only classes and the only place in the area to offer classes for the over 50s. All taught by full time black belt instructors. With the addition of The Performance Centre for strength and conditioning, Muay Thai classes and a Wellness Centre, The Jiu Jitsu Sanctuary has got it all covered! This really is Jiu Jitsu for everyone.

Fantastic experience: I started jiu jitzu in January this year, I was seeking something to help with my mental health. I came across the jitzu sanctuary through a friend and it's absolutely hit the spot. The highs I get after class is enough for me to keep going back and wanting more! I literally can't wait for my next class always. Thanks tjjs for getting me hooked on this awesome sport!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing place! Very professional coaches, friendly atmosphere, the most modern gym I've ever seen. My teenager is always in a good mood after class's which is very rare! It's brilliant place to keep your kids and teenagers busy! Plus they have a gym, parents don’t get bored while they wait

The facilities all round are top notch. The coaches here are truly exceptional, offering unparalleled expertise and guidance. This is quite possibly the nicest bjj gym in the entire country!

Fantastic experience: Most definitely the nicest looking gym I’ve ever trained in, but more importantly it’s such a welcoming place and every class has a really nice atmosphere. The head coach is extremely knowledgable and good to have such a high level teaching. The timetable is full and something for everyone, no matter the age or ability.

Fantastic experience: I recently joined the new BJJ gym, and I'm beyond impressed! The facilities are top-notch, with spacious training areas and high-quality equipment. The vibe is energetic, and the instructors are not only skilled but also incredibly supportive. It's hands down the best BJJ gym I've ever experienced – an absolute game changer for anyone passionate about starting at a new gym or learning a new skill. Fantastic experience: Amazing coaches both on the mats and downstairs in the gym /performance centre. Full time black belts coaching a range of classes from All level's, Advanced, 50+, Women’s only etc. Zebra mats and heavy bags upstairs. The gym is of the highest quality in all senses. Not to mention a Spa / recovery centre with a red light sauna, cryogenic chamber and floatation tank to speed up your recovery time. Coming to the gym is my favourite part of the week :)
