Fantastic experience: I recently moved back to the area and tried out a bunch of gyms - and One DZ had something all the others didn't - community! James (who runs the place) loves this gym, and it shows. The attention to detail and the hygiene in this place were really impressive. Plus, there's nothing intimidating about it (I'm a 5"2 woman!) and this gym seemed to only attract super friendly, laid-back people. If you live near here, it's an absolute no-brainer.

Fantastic experience: As a lady of a certain age, I was nervous going back to the gym but ONEDZ is very friendly, easy to navigate with a mixture of all age groups and abilities. I have PT sessions with Finn, who is amazing and I would highly recommend him, he is patient and very encouraging and gives me the confidence to challenge myself.

I've been using ONE|DZ for two and a half years now as the first gym I've ever attended regularly, which is a testament to its quality - and the bespoke training programme from Fin has helped me build the habit of training regularly.

It has a good range of equipment and friendly people. as-well as friendly PTs who will get to know everyone and go above and beyond for the members As a female concerned about being comfortable in the gym it’s definitely a great place to be especially if you’d like to ask for help and not intimidating at all. All PTs will be happy give guidance which makes it feel less awkward and they promote and encourage healthy lifestyle choices. My favourite time to go is mid morning or later in the evening as it’s a less busy period. Having weekly sessions Fin and a programme to follow is a big Benefit he is patient and has exceptional expertise, he also helps keeping me on track and pushes me to work hard. All in all, No other gym compares.

Fantastic experience: ONE|DZ is a great gym, they have all the facilities you would need for cardio, bodybuilding and powerlifting. The location is perfect and the atmosphere inside is amazing. The staff are lovely, the personal trainers Fin and Luke especially have helped me develop through the years I’ve been here with one to one PT sessions. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Onedz for just over a year. I've been to other gyms before but this one is incredible. Not only is it immaculate and the facilities are great. But the staff are another level. They are friendly, approachable and so understanding. I have a disability and they adapt everything fo me and never make me feel ashamed or uncomfortable. I have pt with Jake, i lost the use of my left hand side in January and i have gained it back with his help. He is a little fountain of knowledge when it comes to physiology and training. Also the clients are so kind and a lovely bunch.

Right from the first time you walk through the door, the staff and other members make you feel at home; its a totally non-intimidating, supportive and fun environment. The gym is kept clean and well maintained and the equipment is modern and constantly updated. The instructors take time to get to know you and your fitness levels/goals. They are very attentive, pointing out areas for improvement whilst offering encouragement and support. I genuinely look forward to coming to class and I leave buzzing each time. Fantastic experience: I joined ONE|DZ approximately 12 months ago, looking for fitness classes as opposed to a gym. The gym is fantastically stocked with everything you could possibly need. The staff are friendly, helpful and pay a real interest in all their members irrespective of age or ability. I really enjoy the range of classes on offer. These are all slightly different with a different instructor each time, putting their unique take on each class. This is a fabulous place, the staff are great and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I started at OneDZ in Jan ‘24 with a large weight loss goal and a desire to get fitter and healthier. I was nervous and totally out of my comfort zone. Training with James, experiencing his knowledge, his insistence on keeping me injury free and his commitment to my journey has massively helped me to stay on track and motivated. This gym creates a safe space to train in due to the respect the trainers and other members have for each other, and as a female, I feel 100% comfortable and not intimidated to use all the equipment, or ask if I need help with any training advice or exercises/form. I take part in a lot of the classes that ONDE|DZ offer, and I genuinely look forward to attending, due to seeing the same community of people down there most days. Fantastic experience: Joined ONEDZ a few months ago having spent years in a mix of health clubs and bodybuilding gyms. ONEDZ has offered the perfect combination of a great atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, a spotless gym, and well maintained equipment. Can tell from the moment you step foot in there that all the staff and members are passionate about what they do, creating a real sense of community. Members are always being asked what they’d like to see added to the gym, whether it be equipment, classes or small improvements to the facility. First gym I’ve been a member of in 8 years where ALL the members put their equipment and weights away, really emphasising the level of respect that everyone has for each other and the gym.

Fantastic experience: Being an absolute beginner the team have helped develop me in the past 7 weeks into a confident gym goer. James and his team especially Fin (PT), have really helped constantly giving tips when required. Fin is very patient with me and will try to simplify exercises or make them more difficult as required. Never thought I’d say I enjoy going to the gym but this gym is different, massively encouraging and supportive team really make the difference.

Fantastic experience: I wanted to give a shout out to the OneDZ gym in Darley Abbey Mills. Having been to many gyms/fitness centres over the years I can with some knowledge say that this gym surpasses anything else I have experienced. The first thing you notice when you walk through the door are the super friendly staff and general environment, there’s a real ‘fitness community’ buzz about the place. It certainly helps that everyone is so helpful and accommodating and willing to answer any query. The premises are incredibly well maintained and spotlessly clean with a wide range of high quality equipment. The customer base is very diverse from youngsters to senior citizens which makes it feel welcoming to absolutely everyone. There are always staff on hand to give feedback regarding technical advice and James is a mine of information on nutrition and how to look after yourself, needless to say my diet has been tweaked for the better. Whether you are looking to simply lose weight, train for certain events or just keep fit and well then you will find everything you need here. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

This gym is the nicest environment I have ever set foot in, I have felt that you can talk to anyone there and not feel judged or self conscious. The personal trainers are amazing with a wealth of knowledge and the owner has the upmost pride in the gym and keeps the gym immaculate with all the equipment working at all times while constantly looking for new upgrades to make the place better. It is such a good environment to train, with a vast amount of equipment with suits the needs of everyone. All of the team have been so welcoming from day one, which makes it such an easy place to go to. I used to dread going to the gym but at ONE|DZ I can’t wait to go. It is the most underrated gym in derby, if you haven’t tried it then I highly recommend.

This place has made me reach my full potential and I look forward to every visit. James, Fin and many other members of the team have made me feel welcome from the start and I have built more confidence within my training. The environment within ONE DZ is one of the best, I have been apart of multiple gyms and this has to be the best everyone is willing to help and treats everyone with the same level of respect even if you’ve been there 10 minutes or 10 years. I visit the gym around 4/5 times a week and love every moment, the facilities are amazing and the location is easy to get to. For anyone reading the review I have lost around 12-14kg from when I started and this was my goal. I genuinely couldn’t recommend this gym more to anyone, every person within the gym is friendly and respectful.

Fantastic experience: Great facility. Gym was getting renovated so was looking around and found ONE|DZ. Welcoming staff, very good membership options and has everything you'd want or need in a gym. I ended up staying and canceled my other gym membership.

Fantastic experience: From a person who doesn’t naturally like gyms I have to say the building , equipment , mood and atmosphere are perfect . Staff and gym users are all friendly and approachable and the standard of the facilities and professional help high . Fantastic experience: Best way to spend a Friday night I joined ONEDZ in January, training with James Gallacher. After having only really previously run and played sports, the thought of going to a public gym was always slightly scary. However, from the second I stepped through the door, all my fears were completely eradicated. James RD and the team couldn’t have done a better job at making me feel welcome. With a plethora of specialist coaches, diverse range of equipment and top-notch interior, the ONEDZ community definitely offers something for everyone, no matter age or ability! PT sessions are always a laugh with James G helping me to maximise my improvements weekly as well as offering nutrition advice and check ins to ensure that I can get the most out of my training. Coming up to A-levels, ONEDZ has become like a second home, providing a way to alleviate stress whilst spending valued time with my mum and sister. The atmosphere is like no other with support always on hand should you need a spotter, technique check or even just an extra confidence boost. I can’t recommend ONEDZ enough!!

Fantastic experience: Great gym, highly recommended. Very friendly, supportive and NOT full of posing knuckleheads. Super supportive and highly knowledgeable Strength and Conditioning Trainer Luke is really doing wonders for my lower back issues and Sciatica.

Fantastic experience: Having been a member for nearly five years, I can confidently say that OneDZ is the best gym I've ever used...it's in a great location, has all the equipment you could wish for and is kept spotlessly clean. However, what takes OneDZ to another level is the people; James, Alex and the rest of the team create a friendly, positive environment where there's always someone on hand to provide advice, expertise and encouragement if you need it. Like the staff, the members are a lovely bunch too and this makes for a relaxed setting where getting fitter is fun. If you're looking for a gym, I couldn't recommend OneDZ highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I have been a member of ONE DZ for around 2 years now, really modern equipment and good community. James (Owner) has been a big factor around this and its great that he makes everyone feel together within the gym and shows real solidarity. The gym is a great facility for all ages and family members have joined off the back off this. Its a great place to make progress. One of the coaches Jake has been great for my fitness journey, he has given me tips and advice to better myself physically and mentally. His vast array of knowledge has been great for achieving goals and learning more about why and how we do movements in the gym. He has got me back playing football which is my real passion from working on strengthening my lower back so I cannot thank him enough for that. I also introduced Jake to my Mum who has had a long outstanding arthritis issue in both knee's and back, after a year together she has nearly lost 2 stone in weight and has hit a very big milestone of being able to run again whilst lowering/eliminating most of the day to day pain. I cannot thank him enough for not only being a great coach but becoming a very close friend throughout the process. Thank you to all the great team at ONE DZ, Andy

Fantastic experience: Since joining as a member 2 months ago, having changed direction from bodybuilding specific training to more healthy lifestyle training, I can’t fault One DZ or it’s fantastic trainers. This is a very unique gym that you really do have to come and experience in person to truly appreciate. There’s a warm atmosphere when you walk in, the fantastic range of equipment in excellent condition (not seen a single piece out of action), the great music, and friendly members. The trainers are always helping members with technique and encouraging to be the best you can be. If you aren’t a confident gym goer just yet you can build things up at your own pace and use the studio where you can have your own music playing or shut the door for some quiet time. This gym suits everyone, all abilities and all ages. It isn’t just a gym, it really does feel like a community. You train hard, and then can relax on the sofas, have a chat, even play on the games console. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I came to Jake after a rough return to rugby after 4 years without playing and pulling my hamstring for the second time. Jake has helped me work through my weaknesses to recondition myself and develop sprint specific power required for my position. He is extremely knowledgeable and clearly cares for his clients. ONE|DZ is an amazing gym with great equipment and an even better atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and there is a sense of community within the gym. Cannot recommend Jake and ONE|DZ enough.

Fantastic experience: I joined one Dz in august and haven’t been to the gym in years. I have never felt more welcomed and would also like to thank Jake (pt) for getting me to enjoy the gym again. Jake is always there to help you out and genuinely wants the best for you. Currently I’ve lost 2 stone and joined a rugby club. I would massively recommend this gym and the staff are great.

Fantastic experience: Been attending for roughly a month and it’s the first gym I’ve felt properly comfortable in as a woman. Everyone is there just to do their own thing and pursue their goals. It’s chill and professional at the same time with great equipment/setting. PT’s and owner are very welcoming

Fantastic experience: I joined OneDZ after a recommendation from someone I trust about gyms and coaches in Derby but I was still hesitant as had been a long term loyal crossfitter not giving the time of day to ‘globo’ gyms. However, my aim was to get stronger so I could lift heavier so I knew what needed to be done. I began to have coached sessions with Jake at OneDZ and have not looked back! I really enjoy coming to the gym - it’s modern, clean and friendly. I always find going there a bit of luxury in a city overly subscribed with commercial gyms that all look and feel the same. Jake is super supportive and works hard as a coach to ensure I’m making progressive strength gains session after session. He’s also programmed me some extras to do in my own time. I’ve noticed huge positive changes in my self confidence, body composition and general motivation to be the best version of myself. I will take what I’ve learnt and introduce myself back to the world of crossfit next year but I’m sure I’ll still have the odd session with Jake. Highly recommend OneDZ and especially coach Jake.
