Fantastic experience: I dropped into Roll Deep for a one off session, everyone was really welcoming and the level of coaching and students was very high, loved it and will be back every time I am in Nottingham.

Fantastic experience: Only been to one session but thought my review could be helpful for complete novices. I’m 40 and have finally taken the plunge and attended my first lesson at Rolldeep. After initial nerves I settled in and the lesson was awesome I felt super welcome and Carlos was very aware he had newbies in the lesson which even though it was a beginners class it’s very different I guess for first timers who know absolutely nothing. Everything was well explained and well shown, I listened and learned a great deal from just one lesson and I loved rolling a little at the end with Ken. Safe to say I’ll be going back as soon as possible and can’t wait to start my journey at Rolldeep. If anyone is thinking about it but keep putting it off I advise going for a free session you having nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Fantastic experience: Visited as a drop in from another gym and couldn’t praise this gym highly enough. Great pace to the classes, plenty of learning balanced with good hard rounds. Fantastic experience: A humble bluebelt here. Due to work commitments I can’t train as often as I’d like to - I do a few drop-ins every few months every time when I travel to Nottingham. Roll deep is great, always feel welcome every time I go, from competition gi to no-gi classes, they are very technical and helps me improve my game. Carlos is genuinely one of the nicest people I meant, with great energy backed with refined techniques, amazing coach to say the least!! Really enjoyed my time here and will continue to go when I come up Notts! Osss!

Fantastic experience: Great range of classes, including wrestling and competition. Excellent atmosphere, and seminars with top tier professional practitioners. Coaches regularly compete in open invitation comps, with several members competing in (and winning) high-level invitation sub-only matches. Kids classes, adult beginners and advanced in Gi and No-Gi, wrestling and competition classes. The other team members are tough to roll with, but very supportive. An unbeatable vibe and sense of camaraderie.

Fantastic experience: Kids BJJ lessons Our son attended Roll Deep with his Dad and asked to be able to give BJJ a go. A year on and as his parents it is wonderful to see the skills he is learning, friends he is making and mentoring he is experiencing. Roll Deep has a very welcoming ethos. Young and older encourage each other whether you are looking to compete in the sport or just learn a new skill. The coaches are encouraging and build the youngsters through guidance and example which as a family is a huge strength of Roll Deep. Its also wonderful to see how the different groups (ages) form a level of camaraderie that can sometimes get lost in a setting like this but Roll Deep has it in spades!

Fantastic experience: I joined the Roll Deep family at the beginning of the year when I was looking for a new gym after moving to Nottingham and I can honestly say I could have never expected what came after; this academy and family has really and truly changed my life. The atmosphere in this gym is phenomenal and addictive, making you want to be there training with your team all the time. The coaching is delivered in a way that will allow you to truly understand the art of BJJ, something that I struggled with prior to joining Roll Deep. Everyone is mega friendly and leaves their ego at the door which will allow you to relax and feel comfortable and safe at all times. It’s hard to put it into words but if you want to join a team where you feel the sense of family and belonging while achieving whatever goals you have set yourself in the sport, get down to Roll Deep and make some friends for life and take your jiu jitsu to the next level, whether you are a hobbyist or a competitor.

Fantastic experience: Kids BJJ My son has been attending Roll Deep BJJ for a few months now and I can see his confidence in himself increasing each week. Carlos and his coaches are amazing and I am really impressed with their interaction with the children and parents who attend. I am so glad I found such a fantastic place for my son to learn BJJ, with lovely comoradery.

Fantastic experience: My daughter started here roughly a year ago after 5 years of Karate. She absolutely loves it here. Everyone is so supportive and welcoming. The progress all the children have made in their confidence, skills and fitness has been fantastic to watch. The children can choose to compete in the local competitions as well which they all have an amazing time at. If you are thinking about giving it a go, I would definately recommend trying here first.

Not only am I learning a new and important skill to my personal life, being self defence, I’m also adapting a sense of a new life style while making new friends/family.
