Fantastic experience: I suffer from osteoarthritis and I was referred to Dee's Gym about 2 years ago by my physio having had a hip replacement. At that time my other hip was already a problem and a second op was imminent. I wanted to be as fit as possible to make a speedy recovery when the time came. Dee's expertise and support have been invaluable in achieving these goals. I recovered so much more quickly after my second op because I had followed a tailored pre-op programme and received such excellent 1:1 coaching. Post operatively, I've been attending Dee's rehab class to build my strength and confidence. It's a friendly welcoming place where we have fun but work hard! I'm not quite at the stage where I can easily hurl my cabin bag into the overhead locker but confident that that time isn't so far away!! Thank you Dee for all your professional support and positive encouragement.
Fantastic experience: I have been working with Dee for the last 3 years. It's been a transformational experience for me and my body. It's been fun. It's been hard, in a good way. It's transformed my body and co-ordination. As well as building long term resilience and protection from injury.
Fantastic experience: I'm incredibly grateful for your help over the last 18 months or so. During that time I've built up to the last 6 months where I've: -completed my first 100 mile race coming 40th in the Arc of Attrition. I smashed my aspirational time of 30 hours doing it in 27. -achieved a sideline life goal of managing a sub 90min half marathon (1.27 in the bath half - I also managed the first 10k in less than 40 mins which I'd also wanted to do) -running 9.30 for 50 miles (whilst doing 56 miles on the Butcome Trail Ultra) -last weekend managing the Bob Graham round in under 24 hours and therefore getting to join the Bob Graham Club! I couldn't have done any of this and remained relatively injury free without your help and expertise. My only significant injuries (broken toe/bad back/sprained ankle) couldn't have been helped by S&C. In particular, I have found myself to have excellent endurance on hills at the back end of long races, up and down. I put this down in no small part to quads and hamstring conditioning that you have helped to develop. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: I do a three-times weekly online S&C class with Dee, and I think he's great! Dee is always very friendly and kind, but also very knowledgeable. He quickly notices any mistakes I'm making, and instructs me how to correct them. I've been doing S&C with Dee for the last 3 years, and have been particularly consistent in the last 6 months. As a result, my chronically problematic left knee is better than it has been for years. Going into my recent big challenge (Barkley Marathons) I felt stronger than ever, so I'm very grateful to Dee for helping me to achieve that feeling.

Fantastic experience: Coach Dee starting working with my daughter who is a middle distance athlete 2 months ago, following a frustrating period of injury. We had an initial assessment meeting with Dee so that he could fully understand the rehab required, her goals, training load and also assess where she was at strength wise. Dee then created a program for her which she could incorporate into her training program. Dee impressed us from the get go with his depth of knowledge, positive aura and also his appreciation and belief in her athletic goals. Thank you Dee for your ongoing support - you're awesome!
Fantastic experience: My main Goal was to go snowboarding in January after my ACL injury back in March. Enter Dee with his knowledge.. 6months working on strength and hey presto I was able to attack the hill in the usual way and better still no aches and pains (muscle soreness) that you usually get after a week of snow sliding. There’s still room for improvement but for now, thanks Dee.
You gave me a goal and timeframe to get you there. Most rewarding when I can do this in my job. Thanks for being awesome client!!
Fantastic experience: Dee is extraordinarily good. Kind, patient and incredibly skilled at PT. I am 56 years old and have had ongoing back problems for many years. I’d tried lots of exercise routes and many caused more back problems. Working with Dee hasn’t done this, his knowledge of the body and exercise has meant that he has helped me build up strength in weaker areas before progressing in my training. Can’t thank or recommend him enough. He’s given me confidence back in my body.
It’s been a journey but everything in the right direction of this journey for sure. Onwards and upwards!!

Fantastic experience: I started going to Dee to rehabilitate a knee injury acquired from overtraining. Dee helped me overcome it and then strengthen the muscles sufficiently to prevent further damage. I have continued working with Dee, following a program designed to enhance my performance in triathlon and prevent injury. Every session is carefully structured, gently progressed from the previous, and focused on developing good technique. Dee is an expert in his field, takes his profession really seriously and motivates his clients in a calm, encouraging manner. I’d thoroughly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Dee is great – he's articulate, knowledgable and promotes a calm training environment. His easy-going and friendly demeanour makes training sessions really enjoyable, but by no means easy! His programming is spot on and has a good mix of heavy lifting, single leg work and core work. His flexibility with the programming caters to any niggles I may be experiencing. I wouldn't train anywhere else in Bath.
Fantastic experience: After my second knee op I took a series of weekly rehab classes with Dee. These exercises were designed specifically to revive the strength in my ageing legs and refashioned knees. Fantastic experience: Following knee replacement surgery and post operation physio I was lucky enough to get a course of rehabilitation sessions with Dee. Having been in pain and limited in my knee movement before surgery (and certainly no `gym bunny!`), I was quite anxious about my capabilities. Dee completely understood, he was inspirational, always positive and smiling. He designed sets of exercises that built up gradually, using equipment and weights, so I could see improvement and progress week on week. Dee gave me the confidence to try movements I have been unable to achieve for years. I now have a gym membership, swim regularly and attend pilates and yoga classes, all of which would not have been possible for me without the support and encouragement I received from Dee. A huge thank you Dee for my new lease of life!
Fantastic experience: Couldn't ask for more from Dee as a coach. He has supported me from ACL post-op to return to play. Be it programming gym sessions or on field sprint sessions the quality is outstanding. I would happily recommend Dee to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Myself and a friend started training twice weekly with Dee about 6 months ago in order to help strengthen our running and prevent injury...and this is exactly what’s happened! I am stronger as a runner and my reoccurring knee injuries have not happened since. Dee is knowledgeable, professional and personable and I would highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Dee took me on as his client after a 5 month break (following the Summer lockdown). He was thorough in his assessment before we got started, calling me before my first session to discuss my goals and any issues that might affect my training. We made a careful start before increasing the intensity, whilst Dee got to know my needs and a few quirks I have to work around. The workouts are definitely targeted to my weaknesses and as a result I am getting noticeably stronger. I’m SO happy to now have less issues with my neck and shoulder and that Dee always makes sure to keep deadlifts in my program as he knows I love them! I really look forward to my sessions and feel great afterwards, (sore, but great!) The sessions are focused and also fun. There are often laughs (Mostly Dee laughs at me!) and we get it DONE. During the second lockdown, Dee gave me a few key exercises to make sure I didn’t lose too much ground. He definitely knows his stuff. Although it was a vastly reduced program I came back even stronger. Result!

Fantastic experience: I was introduced to Coach Dee through Sonja at the Pure Practice following a physiotherapy appointment. I am recovering from an ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair. I signed up to 2 lower limb rehabilitation sessions a week for 6 weeks at an excellent price. This is around an hour long group class where we focussed on lower limb exercises to improve strength, balance, mobility and flexibility. Although a group session each exercise is adapted to suit your specific needs/limits. Dee is an extremely friendly character who knows his stuff and wants the best for you. Since completing the 6 week programme Dee has written a programme for me to complete on my own at the gym. I would 100% recommend any type of session with Dee.
Fantastic experience: Dee is an excellent trainer. We take part in his classes every day, mostly on catch-up. He is very motivating in a kind way and provides a great start to the day. My all round fitness and flexibility have improved significantly from the work outs. I also enjoy Rachel Whitehouse’s weekly Pilates sessions which are part of the monthly subscription.

Fantastic experience: My time with Dee has been a game changer for me. He has truly understood the challenges I was facing and created a customised program that he adapted accordingly to the pains and issues I was having. He exposed areas for improvement and developed them through strength training with awareness of a broken back and nerve damage in the neck. In addition, we undertook proprioception work to improve coordination between the body and limbs. After 3 weeks of training I immediately felt some results: less pain, better posture and feeling strong and confident in my body. I recommend Dee 100% especially if you are recovering from a heavy injury!

Fantastic experience: Six months of training with Dee has made a huge difference to my running. I feel strong at the end of long training runs, my form remains consistent and I can speed up past mile 20. Something I couldnt do before the S&C work with Dee. Got a long race coming up that I did in October 2020, excited to see what my new legs can do this time.

Fantastic experience: Dee is a brilliant coach! About 2 months ago, I started to work with Dee on strengthening my knee, which has a long and complex history of sporting injuries and operations. So along my journey, I have seen a number of physios and personal trainers. From my experience, what really makes Dee stand out is that he truly cares to understand complex cases and develops a personalised programme around it taking in feedback and honing it to perfectly address your individual needs and situation. Dee is very knowledgeable and very passionate in supporting you to achieve your goals. I have progressed so much better than expected and this (together with the previous physio sessions with Rachel Whitehouse) has greatly changed my future outlook with my knee. Also Dee is personable and the sessions are very enjoyable, focused and fun! I highly recommend Dee to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Dee is an incredible coach and takes the time to understand your needs and uses evidenced based practice to support your current programme. I've never felt stronger and more supported especially since having previous stress fractures and a diagnosis of osteoporosis. Dee is really encouraging so you feel welcome no matter what your previous experience is within a gym. He is definitely motivating and has belief in all the people he trains especially if your struggling to perfect a certain exercise or having a bad day. If you need a coach, I would not recommend anyone else.

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Dee enough, he really is a first class trainer! Dee took the time to really understand not only my goals but how my body moved and my areas of weakness. This was then complimented by a strength and conditioning programme that was tailored to me as an individual. It’s rare to find a trainer that cares about you as a person but Dee really does and that goes beyond the time spent training. Dee is unbelievably knowledgeable and really has a passion for what he does. He is constantly learning and that comes across in every session. I’ve also learned a lot from Dee and my progression has been amazing! Looking forward to learning some new Olympic lifting soon!

Fantastic experience: Dee is an excellent personal trainer who continually develops innovative ways to get the maximum out of a session. I have been working with Dee on a knee rehabilitation programme and I am extremely pleased with the progress I have made.
