Fantastic experience: This is a very, very good club. I have been going for about ten years now, and I still feel like I am growing and improving. Sensei Jo and her team (which I can now call myself a part of) have such a wealth of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm that you will leave each session exhausted, informed and excited for the next lesson. Martial Arts clubs are wonderful communities, full of people who work together and spur each other on to greater things. This club has that, obviously, but also set apart in a couple of ways. Firstly, the care and attention that the team pays to each individual's development is incredible. Everyone's journey is different. This club doesn't try to make clones of the Sensei; it allows people to develop according to their needs. Secondly, the club has benefitted massively from previously being part of ECKA (the English Contact Karate Association). There are ECKA clubs all over the country, creating a greater community to be a part of. Instructors from one club often helped students from others. Regular competitions, workshops and courses, allowed expertise to be experienced by all. The knowledge that there was a great team behind the scenes was of great reassurance, especially when considering aspects such as governance or safeguarding. This lesson has been learnt and incorporated as the club has gone independent. The club is not a reflection of the founder's ego but an acknowledgement of the broad community of martial artists. I could probably talk for ages about the benefit of this club, but the fact that I have stayed so long and can now see my children flourish here too is a massive sign of how great LBKA is!

Fantastic experience: My son is thriving at this club. The coaching team have a wonderful manner with the young people, the ethos is so positive and encouraging but also with real focus and progression for the students. They really foster confidence and self esteem as well as self discipline and determination, and the young assistant coaches are superb role models for the younger ones. Highly highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My son has been attending the juniors Saturday class at Leighton Buzzard Kickboxing for almost 4 months now. He can be reluctant to try new classes initially but he asked me if he could give kickboxing a go and we found Sensei Jo through Facebook. After his trial session he was hooked so we signed him up to go every week. Both Sensei Jo and Sensei Pete are fantastic teachers who know exactly how to get the best out of each student. My son’s confidence and skill set are growing week by week and he achieved his first belt this morning! We couldn’t be happier to have found something which has encouraged and engaged him as much as kickboxing has and he can’t wait to attend his class every week.

Fantastic experience: Ladies!! If you are looking for something a bit different to challenge you and improve your fitness then this is the class for you! Must enjoy learning a new skill with other women who are all different fitness levels and shapes & sizes. We are a friendly, welcoming group with a fabulous coach, Sensei Jo who will put you at ease. I started in November and am loving being part of this club. Come give it a try!

Fantastic experience: I've been going to LB kickboxing for a few weeks now and am really enjoying it. I was really nervous before my first session but the group is really welcoming and there was no judgement at all on my lack of skills or fitness level. It's a really comfortable environment and Sensai Jo has a great energy and really galvanizes the whole group. It's a really fun way to get fit and learn self defence skills - I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Our daughter Freya started kick-boxing last year, she was a little nervous to try it but she was hooked after one lesson!! She now attends twice a week and thoroughly enjoys it. Her fitness level has increased massively and so has her confidence. The coaches are wonderful, so inspiring and fantastic at what they do, very helpful and approachable. It’s such a fantastic way of keeping fit! 100% a wonderful sport for everyone

Fantastic experience: This club is perfect. If you want to learn a martial art, self defence or simply get fit, this is for you. The classes are varied, challenging and energising. It's suitable for all ages (I'm 52 at the time of posting) and it is a friendly, safe and inclusive atmosphere. Sensei Jo is awesome; knowledgeable, professional and supportive.

Fantastic experience: I've been attending the female only class for 2 months now, and its been amazing. I have never felt comfortable to join a mixed martial arts class, so this was perfect for me! Sensei Jo is an awesome teacher, she makes everyone feel so relaxed and you can do things at your own pace, with no judgement at all. Its a class full of laughter and friendly faces, a hard but fun workout and it gives such a sense of achievement and strength! Can't recommend it enough!

Fantastic experience: My son attends regular classes with Sensei Jo and her team at little buzzards, I can hand on heart say each and every one of them is intensive and tuned in to teaching and coaching a young age group. My son doesn’t have fantastic concentration at 4 years old but Jo makes sure she keeps it’s fun and engaging for them. The discipline of the sport plus a lively child lured us to the class, it’s ticked all our boxes! We love the journey our son is on and can’t wait to see him improve as he has week after week.

Not only are they welcoming and kind, but genuinely care about each child's progress and has taught my son a lot of life skills, he is excited to attend and loves the competitions and has made friends for life. Fantastic experience: Structured and fun class with physical challenges and instilling respect, discipline and team work in our little ones. We also really like that the teenage coaches work with our little ones age 5 years) and act as excellent role models of how perseverance and hard work will achieve success.

Fantastic experience: My son has been going to classes for nearly a year and absolutely loves it. Sensei Jo and the other coaches are amazing with the children, it’s a really lovely class full of support and encouragement. The children get to have lots of fun while learning skills and building confidence and the growth I’ve seen with my son, both personally and physically, has been lovely to witness. He’s also building social skills and resilience which transfer into other situations outside of the class too. 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: Our daughter is 7 and started here about 6 months ago with no previous karate or martial arts experience. We really weren’t sure if she’d enjoy it, but Sensei Jo and Sensei Pete have been brilliant with her and she’s already passed her first grading. It’s given her more confidence and she always enjoys going on a Saturday morning. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Really nice, friendly club and the staff are brilliant. My son attends 3 practices every week and finds them really enjoyable. I like the membership system that allows me to pay a monthly subscription for any and all classes he wants to attend (which is just about all of them) without me having to organise a cash or card payment every time, it’s so much easier to just manage a subscription and it’s amazing value for money. Overall I couldn’t recommend this club enough, I have lived in various parts of the Uk and this is by far the best club I have known of by miles. I would have given 10 stars if it was possible. Thank you Sensei Jo and the rest of the team, we really appreciate all your hard work and all of the support you have given us.

Fantastic experience: I have been part of this club for nearly a decade. With no former background in martial arts I have achieved much more than I ever thought possible (a black belt and some decent results in competitions). The club has students of all levels in terms of experience and fitness. It is a safe and family friendly environment making it ideal for learning martial arts. Both Sensei Jo and Sensei Pete bring energy and positive attitude while sharing their knowledge. I am proud of being part of this club and I look forward to bringing in my own children in when they come of age.

Fantastic experience: My two boys Arthur and Oscar have recently joined and they love it so much, they have learnt a lot of skills already and always concentrate so well .

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend enough this club! My son started almost 3 years ago, he grew so much in confidence, discipline, he made new friends, I couldn't ask for more! My daughter got her first belt as well, she was so keen to step into her brother shoes :) Worth to mention, Sensei was absolutely amazing keeping this rolling on during these hard times, keeping everybody safe and active! Fantastic experience: This is a fantastic friendly group. My son loves going 3 times a week. Sensei Jo is amazing with all the kids, pure patience and determination to support them to do well. Not only does she support them with Karate and Kickboxing but she’s looks out for them individually, ensuring they are happy and giving them the ability to grow in confidence. I certainly would recommend this group.

Fantastic experience: What can I say? It is a great club under all the points of view. Since I first joined I got the chance to experience a well rounded and intense workout. I still get surprised by how, even after more than 5 years into martial arts, I get to learn something new in every class. It's true when they say "you never stop learning", but Sensei is very knowledgeable, technical and clearly passionate about her job. I always feel a sense of achievement at the end of each class and I leave the club knowing that the next class will bring a new challenge and a whole different set of exercises and techniques to learn. Every time it is different and I often get intrigued by what techniques come next. Plus the fitness level is very high for those who want to push themselves and get that "extra mile" box ticked, with no pressure at all for those who can't or don't feel to do so. I have joined the club four months ago but I feel already in a great shape, in both body and mind. My flexibility is also improving and this sense of progression is quite addicting. Not all the clubs gives you that. The classmates are also a great bunch of people to work with...and passionate, definitely passionate. It's funny to see how at the end of each session some of them gather together to debrief about the class or give feedback to one another...even when they are walking to their car!! Overall it's a very nice and friendly environment. A really pleasant community to be part of, and a safe place where to be too, as everyone is very respectful. I can only give 5 stars....sorry.
