Fantastic experience: I've been a member of May Wellbeing since the beginning of April 2024. I joined, as I had surgery in Feb 24, and wanted to enhance my recovery and become stronger. Being from a "distance cycling background," I am brand new to weight training and need a little extra support during sessions, due to mobility. All the coaches there have been so encouraging and supportive, adapting exercises where necessary and taking time to listen to me and to reassure me with any concerns. I absolutely love coming to my sessions. I have never been as consistent with training as I am at MWB and I'm gutted if I ever have to miss a session. I've made some great strength gains and learned a lot about nutrition. It's such a friendly, safe, supportive environment and I'm now back out there on my bike and building up the miles once more!! Give it a try, you definitely won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I have never felt more comfortable training! This gym is a community like no other! So supportive and friendly the minute you walk in and you are guided through every move even if you have an injury they can tailor to you! I used to have such pain in my back working and now it’s not existent even when lifting the heaviest I ever have!! You are really missing out not being involved! Thank you team MW! Xx

Fantastic experience: Having piled on the weight to my heaviest ever after last summer, I initially tried to manage it myself. But, looking around the internet their is so much noise with contrasting views about which is the best way to manage your weight, fitness etc, that I felt overwhelmed and lost amongst it all. I then saw an advert for May Wellbeing on Facebook and dug a bit deeper and it sounded inspiring and initially for a 28 day commitment, sounded ideal. Well, I am very grateful to Sarah, Louis & Cat for the way they cut through the noise and got me on track. The first thing is the In-Body scan which lays out where you are in black & white, which wasn't a surprise, but still a good starting reference. The targets for nutrition were kept simple, coupled with the workouts, which were varied but challenging with that guiding hand from each of the team to ensure best form and technique. They say for any journey 'the first step is the hardest' and to hit my health and fitness targets is going to be a long journey, but May Wellbeing has helped set me on that journey.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been looking for a place where I can build my strength and release stress for some time. I have found it round the corner! Amazing coaches, with very professional but soft approach with a smile dealing with my grumpy moods. And every time I’m leaving the place with a happy smile! After 8 weeks of great workouts I can see how my body is changing, I’m getting up early morning each Saturday and can’t wait for the last session of the week. I’m definitely stronger, happier and healthier. Can’t thank enough to all of the members for making tough workouts easier and fun. May wellbeing- my happy place

Fantastic experience: Incredible coaches! They make you feel very comfortable in the gym environment and with all exercises. They can push you to do more and lift heavier but also are so happily to adapt exercises to your needs if you are struggling! I suffer with knee issues and in just 4 weeks saw massive improvements!! Completely worth the money!

Fantastic experience: I can fully recommend May Wellbeing and as someone who has no history of doing anything even remotely gym orientated and having spent years actively avoiding doing so I finally began my journey at the beginning of 2024 with the motivation of building some strength. (Despite my best efforts to find contradictory advice so i didn’t have too , it turns out that some form of strength training is essential to future health and ability to get out of a chair and toilet :) !! ) I can honestly say it has been the best decision . The instructors are all so welcoming and knowledgeable . They make what could seem initially intimidating to someone like me achievable and remarkably enjoyable. I actually look forward to my sessions which is something I never would have believed possible . I am constantly learning . My strength is improving daily and I have improved energy levels . Finally all the other members I have met are lovely and supportive . So thank you all for making me surprise myself .

Fantastic experience: May Wellbeing is a place that offers incredible support for both physical and mental health, an amazing community and the motivation to reach your own personal goals - I could not recommend it enough! Since training with the coaches at May Wellbeing, I feel stronger and more physically fit. The activities they organise outside of the gym sessions add to the welcoming and supportive nature of the gym. Recently, I took part in the 5 weeks to 5k programme hosted by one of the coaches, Cat. After trying and failing to run a 5k for so long, working with the gym on this meant I finally reached this goal. Coaches are supportive, adaptive and motivational. As a result of this, as well as making progress with my strength and physical fitness, I’ve improve my mentality. I am so grateful to be a part of this incredible community!

Fantastic experience: I started at May Wellbeing after it was recommended to me. I was looking for a 6week course to learn what I needed to do to meet my needs (build strength, tone up and feel fitter) but I had zero idea of what I was meant to do at a regular gym, and knew I wouldn't keep it up. My nerves and worries were quickly squashed when I was made to feel so welcome, despite only wanting to be part of the gym for 6 weeks I was made to feel like one of the gang. I learned how to fuel my body properly and do exercises that tailored to my personal goals. Each class was challenging and I instantly felt the benefits in my energy levels and flexibility. At the end of the 6 weeks my muscle mass has increased, my lifestyle has changed in a way that I can easily keep up and I can touch my toes! The only reason I'm not staying at MW is because I want to enjoy my excersizes time with my daughter who is too young to attend just yet. Massive thanks to the whole team there and all the members who are really welcoming and supportive too. To anyone on the fence, give it a go, I guarantee it will be one of the best decisions you make

All of the coaches are beyond brilliant and if you’re looking for a way to get into the gym consistently then this is definitely the best way for it!!

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Louis for almost 10 years, in that time I have become stronger mentally and physically thanks to his personalised training and infectious positive attitude. I have achieved things I never thought I could do. After he and Sarah set up MW it was a no brainer to join the 3 sessions a week small group personal training. You won't find a friendlier more inclusive gym, not only the coaches but all the members too. You won't regret joining up.

Fantastic experience: My experience at May Wellbeing has been so much more than I expected. This is no run of the mill gym. The targeted training I receive is given by caring, experienced coaches. I feel challenged but safe in the environment they create during the sessions. I have received good advice on nutrition too, healthy eating to back up my training. I cannot recommend May Wellbeing highly enough, becoming a member of the MW family is one of the biggest favours I have done for myself!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend May Wellbeing enough. It’s not like any gym I’ve been to before. The sessions are varied and the small group sizes mean you get the support and advice you need to ensure you’re getting the movements right. The coaches are so knowledgable and really take the time to understand what your goals are and help you work towards them. I also really like the holistic approach; it isn’t just about getting the three gym sessions in per week, but also those non-negotiable positive habits like good quality sleep, daily movement and eating well. The atmosphere is so supportive and everybody is really friendly. A real community of good folk :)

Fantastic experience: I am taking this opportunity to recommend May Wellbeing with a 5 star review. I have been training here for over a year and have become stronger both mentally and physically. The coaches have guided me in my training and have such a wealth of knowledge they have made changes to the training programme to help with arthritis pain in my knees. Not only have they supported my fitness wellbeing but I found attending May Wellbeing invaluable for supporting my mental health too. Taking time for myself and enjoying training in a friendly positive environment. Fantastic coaches and an amazing gym. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to take a moment to review and thank May Wellbeing for the great training sessions you've provided since I joined in August 2023. To say I was terrified to get back into training is an understatement, but the coaches made me feel totally comfortable from day one. Their expertise and knowledge has been invaluable in helping me to understand and apply what I've learned and confidence is growing with each session. When I first joined all I cared about was weight loss, but my mindset has totally changed now and I see/feel the progress I am making in so many other areas - I feel stronger, I sleep better, my mental wellbeing has improved, self confidence has increased, I have better posture, flexibility and so much more. For me now, losing fat is a bonus but not the only goal as already I feel so much better than I did 5 months ago. The coaches ensure that my technique is always correct to avoid any injuries and encouraged me to train at my own pace, but are also sure to push me when required. The coaches take the time to understand who you are as a person and provide specific tailored advice based on this. In short, I would describe the coaches at May Wellbeing as: * Caring. * Educated. * Patient. * Effective Communicators. * Good Listeners. * Professional. * Personable. * Adaptive. * Passionate. This is not just a gym, May Wellbeing has created a real sense of community and an extremely inclusive environment. I have never felt so comfortable in a gym, ever. In fact, I find I actually now look forward to my 6am workouts. I would recommend May Wellbeing to anyone! If you, (like I was) feel scared/worried/anxious to start/restart your fitness journey, this is definitely the right place for you.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend May Wellbeing enough! They have supported me for over 2 years now and helped me to find myself again! My self esteem was at an all time low but with consistency, commitment and support from the most amazing coaches, I have never felt better, both physically and mentally! Fantastic experience: Absolutely Awesome! Can’t recommend MWP enough… Sarah, Louis and the team have played a massive part in building my strength and confidence in and out the gym. Sessions are so welcoming and friendly, there’s always some familiar faces each week. I have seen a big change in my nutrition and my strength in the gym in just a few months.

Fantastic experience: Small group training sessions are a great idea, each person always gets some one on one advice or tips. Sessions are well planned and thought through. Trainers are lovely people, creating a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. It's run slick and on time too.

Fantastic experience: Started going to may wellbeing (gym) a year ago, I first met lewis and Sarah when they came to buy a car, which is where they talked/persuaded me to join, I would say it was a bit out of my comfort zone but I really enjoyed it, it’s got a great atmosphere and there is a lot of great people in the family even D I would probably say it’s one of the best things I’ve done, they’ve made me make a few tweaks to my lifestyle which has helped me not just in the gym but outside of it, I couldn’t recommend it enough, lewis, Sarah, Lucy and even D have been brilliant with me and my boys, all I say is get joined up you won’t regret it⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: I joined MW back in 2021-while we were still in lockdown and gym sessions were remote. Having never really been to a gym properly and with no idea what I was doing (joined once or twice but never actually lasted more than a few months), I was made feel welcome, encouraged and celebrated by the whole team. My progress has not been straightforward, and despite various minor setbacks I can safely say it has been a complete gamechanger for me, both physically and mentally - and Sarah has stuck with me every step of the way. I am stronger, fitter than I have ever been- and my chronic niggling shoulder injury has miraculously disappeared. Would recommend to anyone looking to make positive changes to their health and wellbeing.

Fantastic experience: It's no effort to go to May Wellbeing three times a week. I've never been so consistent with my training since starting here and I feel so much fitter, stronger and more able to deal with whatever life brings. This helps so much with young children, a very busy lifestyle and busy mind. The small group sessions create a friendly and comfortable atmosphere.

Fantastic experience: Great gym... Joined 3 months post op from my 2nd ACL rupture.. working through 3 sessions a week. focused on strength and movement, the coaches helped me to increased confidence in myself to get back to where i wanted to be physically and mentally. Fantastic experience: I love the sessions!!! As someone who has mobility issues that worsened during the pandemic I am noticing a lot more movement with my right hip when walking and the flexibility during the sessions is more noticeable with the range of movement especially when doing the hinge and bridges. I have really enjoyed the last couple of Saturday sessions despite my anxiety prior to the first session. What I love most is the fact that I am accepted within the sessions by other participants and have been from day one which hasn't always been the case. Although I may seem reluctant to be pushed at times, this is down to me and the belief I have in my abilities, I have been told since I was 23 that there were things that i would never do and due to my hip surgery 8 years ago I was told that there would be even less I could do. This mindset is something else that is improving as I know that you push me when you know i need to be pushed. I really appreciate all that you do to ensure I can do the same type of exercises as the others. I cannot thank May Welling & Performance trainers enough for the support they give me.

Fantastic experience: It's not just a gym!! May Wellbeing has changed me not only physically but mentally towards how I train. Fantastic experience: Like a lot of people, my physical and mental health took a hit during the pandemic. I just wasn't on my feet a great deal with the walk-to-work replaced by the walk-to-the-spare-bedroom and I also drank at home more than I usually would. I put on quite a bit of weight and wasn't pleased with it. I struggled with my own commitment when I signed up to local gyms. Finding MW in Oct 2021 was a sliding door moment in my health and how I view it. The three sessions a week are a fantastic foundation, but the difference maker for me was the coaching that changed my approach to alcohol, to caffeine, to what I ate, how important sleep and water are and the value in closing your laptop and leaving it at the right time. The environment and community at MW has meant that I've never had a patch in that two years where I couldn't motivate myself to go. There are a lot of things I can do as a result that I couldn't before. I can do an unassisted pull-up when I couldn't even contemplate the thought two years ago. I've done a couple of shorter-distance organised runs and then earlier this year a triathlon. None of those things happen without MW. I would recommend it to anyone, in real life or on here.

Fantastic experience: The team at May Wellbeing were fantastic at helping me achieve my fitness goals. Having never been to a gym before or had any sort of coach in 30+ years Louis and Sarah really helped me get over my nerves about training in a gym and with other people… the group training is relaxed and I was made to feel comfortable from my first session. Its good the coaches understand people’s limitations and injuries and adapt things in sessions to suit any individual needs. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Having a maximum of eight people in each session with one coach makes MW an easy gym to access. Before joining, I didn’t know anything about strength training: I was active and fit, but not strong. I’m now 12 months into my membership, attending three sessions every week so am prioritising my physical and mental health. I always leave feeling better in my mood as well as physically. It’s an efficient way to train as the sessions are planned so there is no time wasted wondering what to do. It could only be better if it was nearer to my home!

Fantastic experience: I came to May Wellbeing when it first opened and felt really good and made great progress with my fitness. I had this doubt in my mind that other gyms could offer more, had pools, more machines, different hours and could be cheaper, so I left. I soon realised that May Wellbeing is so much more than a gym, and I knew where the best place to improve my fitness and mental health was. For me being able to book my sessions in advance stops me from changing my mind at the last minute, and I have a clear goal of what I need to do each week. The coaches are all amazing and you get that personal touch with your check in’s and targets. This is not just a gym, it’s a community, a place to get fit and strong both physically and mentally and a place to have a laugh with fellow members. I cannot recommend May Wellbeing enough. I’m so glad I came back!!!!

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of May Wellbeing for four years. I was really unfit at the start, and this was affecting my health. The small group training sessions are provided by coaches who are supportive and dedicated to the job they do. Every exercise is explained in detail, taking in to account any niggles you may have.They also provide support and guidance away from the gym, with regular check-ins, a members area on social media, social events and activities. My whole lifestyle has changed for the better and I love it!! I can't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend May Wellbeing highly enough. I was encouraged to join the 28 day program by my wife 5 months ago. I joined reluctantly, confident that i'd be saying thanks but no thanks after the first 28 days, but I absolutely love it here. I've always struggled with gyms as I never know what to do and I tend to give up after a few weeks frustrated that I haven't made any progress. The coaches at MW take the time to understand your journey, and tailor a coaching program to help achieve your goals. It's small group PT, but each coach is aware of your strengths and limitations, and they're on hand to demonstrate exercises and offer alternatives if an injury is preventing you from completing a movement. This is has been particularly useful for me as I have had to handle a stress fracture in my back from earlier this year. The most helpful thing for me has been the 121 coaching and the weekly check ins. Speaking to somebody about my progress is useful as it helps to know that you're on the right track. It also keeps me accountable and on track between each scans. I've lost 15kg in 5 months and I can honestly say there's no way that i'd have managed that without MW!
