Fantastic experience: I snapped my numerous a year ago and had a long recovery, even after physio my arm was incredibly weak and immobile. Jamie was brilliant at working my strength and mobility back up to the point where I’m now able to workout normally once again. Very knowledgeable in his field and would recommend to anyone.
Fantastic experience: I've trained with Phil for over 8 months. Sessions are structured to my needs to fit in with my running. I'm stronger than I've ever been and just ran a 16 min marathon PB as a result of the tailored training. Would recommend him to anyone.
Fantastic experience: I decided to start with Phil at S40 as I had been struggling with debilitating health problems which lead to needing major surgeries. My main aim initially was rehabilitation, specifically improving my core strength to be able to just manage functional, everyday tasks and movements again. My long term goal was to hopefully get back on the netball court and play the game I love again, which at the time seemed an impossible hope. Phil started me right at the beginning with basic body weight activities and stretches, which at the time were massively challenging, gradually adapting the exercises, weights and modifying things week to week depending on factors such as muscle soreness/pain levels and ability. He has set me up with training programmes of my own to work on during the week with an easy to use app where I can record my results which all compliment my weekly PT session with him. It’s fair to say that now I have the knowledge, tools and the confidence I am absolutely hooked on keeping up with my fitness and training goals. I love lifting weights and feeling strong. I actually can’t believe what I have achieved since I started. Not only am I back on the netball court (playing 2-3 per week), but I am the strongest and fittest that I have ever been which has had a massive impact on my game, and, as a result since I started training with Phil I have been awarded the player of the season 3 times! Best thing I ever did, I can’t wait to see what else I can achieve!

I trained with Phil, who was brilliant- expertly guided me through my weight loss, as well as helping me train for a half marathon and build in a weight training plan. Very reasonable cost, especially since the training advice is bespoke and so helpful.
Fantastic experience: Jamie is excellent. Knowledge is second to none and his training techniques have had me doing stuff that I didn't think was possible. I have lost 17 kgs in 6 months and lifting heavier than ever. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I started training with Phil and Jordan in January this year. During that time I have dropped some weight, improved my strength and developed a better relationship with my body. They have the perfect balance between, pushing to get the best out of people and creating an environment that is fun and motivating. Fantastic experience: I’ve been attending personal training sessions with Phil for 7 years and to me that’s testimony to his calibre as a top personal trainer. Originally I began training sessions with him because I’d signed up for winter ultra-marathons in Alaska and was interested in programmes which would help me manage long days pulling a sled of survival gear. Phil devised training sessions which would do just that, both 1:1 as well as providing me with exercise routines I could rehearse on my own. It’s fair to say that at 73 years I’m now one of his oldest clients. I can no longer get the specialist insurance which would enable me to continue taking part in winter ultras but I want to maintain my fitness levels as best as I can. Phil’s professionalism and experience means he’s designed programmes which help manage my aspirations as well as pushing me that bit further. Another of Phil’s strengths is that he watches how you do exercises and coaches for optimum technique within personal capability: sometimes he’ll put a routine on hold and focus on stretching exercises which help performance. His experience also means that if I’m struggling on a particular exercise he’s always got several others to draw on. Also worthy of mention is the well equipped gym where S40 is based. Fantastic experience: I have been training with Phil for about 3.5 years now and he really is a great PT!! The program he has me on is progressive and changes regularly enough to remain interesting. He has recently put together a plan for me to do outside of my PT sessions too which has resulted in me making loads more progress as I’m working harder through the week. Would deffo recommend

Fantastic experience: I initially started with Rich at S40 for 6 weeks during the summer holidays with the intention to improve my well-being. 15months later, almost 3 stone lighter, 2 clothes sizes smaller and fitter than I have ever been I’m still going. It is not just about the physical changes but the mental changes too. I am now motivated to exercise and appreciate how being active can make you feel. Rich has made me realise I can set myself goals and achieve them. Since going to S40 I started the couch to 5k and now can run 10k on the treadmill something I never thought I’d be able to do. S40 is a great gym with a very personal and caring feeling. I would highly recommend Rich as a PT. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and supportive. Fantastic experience: I've been training with Steve for 9 months now, and in that time he has used his extensive knowledge of how the body works to plan a tailored training schedule to meet my needs. Steve took my sports injuries into consideration when planning my sessions, which had developed strength within those areas, and I am now able to train much more efficiently with no injuries. Fantastic experience: I have trained with Steve twice a week for around 8 months now. I’m approaching 50 years old and had let myself go a bit with a few extra pounds around the middle. From first meeting Steve at my consultation it was clear the knowledge, experience and passion that he had would be of great benefit to me. 8 months later, a stone lighter and a few inches less on the waist line, I can honestly say that I am now in the best physical condition I’ve been in for years. I came to Steve with physical limitations with both knees from old sporting injuries and past operations. My training plan has been tailored around my issues and gradually we have increased my range of exercise to incorporate all these areas that before were unachievable.
Fantastic experience: S40 is a great place to train. I have trained with Rich for 7 years now, he has improved my fitness levels and pushed me to achieve goals I never thought I could reach (it's amazing what you can do when motivated and be given belief in your abilities). All this has been attained by Rich's in depth knowledge and understanding of human physiology and uses this to tailor a fitness plan for your own fitness journey. In your session, you are your trainer's primary focus. You always leave S40 feeling you have worked hard. Because you train with a maximum of 2/3 other people, it is a non-threatening environment. As a female client, I feel confident arriving to sessions knowing I am entering a safe, non-intimidating, welcoming space. I would recommend S40 to anyone, whether you are starting out on your fitness journey or just needing someone to develop and enhance your current training plan. S40 will always give you the results you are looking for.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training at s40 for a while now and I would like to share my opinion on those who are thinking about joining. I have been very fortunate to have Richard who is my personal trainer. What a guy...A fountain of knowledge about how to help you achieve the goal you desire, his ambition and drive is motivation in its self. He is amazing at his job and makes you feel comfortable and positive during your training. Having had a bad break to my leg a year ago Richard as tailored my 1-1 sessions to enable me to get the best out of my sessions whilst at the same time allowing me to rebuild the strength back in my bad leg. He has also managed to make these sessions enjoyable whilst also making sure I’m getting the maximum output with minimal risk to the injured area so I don’t have any set backs. If you want an excellent experienced trainer, Richard alongside the rest of the team at S40 are simply the best that l have ever come across. I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone I come across! Now not just a trainer but also a friend. Thanks Richard

Fantastic experience: I have been attending S40 Personal training for a number of years. I have 2 sessions per week, 1 with Richard and 1 with Phil. The best of both worlds!! The decision to begin training in my fifties has been life changing! I am healthier and stronger and love the discipline of my sessions. Fantastic experience: I’ve been having PT sessions with Phil at S40 since shortly after my baby was born, with the goal to get fit and lose weight for my wedding. I managed to do so and continued sessions long afterwards in order to maintain my fitness and strength. The location is good, it has free parking, the gym is never crowded. My sessions are varied and interesting and I always have a good chat and a laugh to distract me from the hard work! I would definitely recommend the guys at S40
