Negative experience: Woman at reception does not provide a good customer service. Talks rude to parents and to the kids. If my kid weren’t strong and able she would easily put him off.

Fantastic experience: I joined the Adults sessions on Tues and Thursdays about a year ago, with good attendance. I can whole heartedly say there is not one day I have not enjoyed myself. Mark and the other instructors are supportive, pushing and adaptive to all levels. I started sparring sessions with no history in boxing and with Marks help and support, I have built up my confidence, lost weight and a lot more healthy! THANK YOU ALL!

Fantastic experience: My son has been attending for a few years now and Mark and his team have helped shape him into a focused, respectful and disciplined 12 year old. On the back of that I quickly signed my younger daughter up and she always returns home with a huge smile on her face. When DMAF recently launched a dads/mens only I finally decided to join! I have to say the facilities are amazing and clean, and the instructor was great at making everyone feel welcome and at ease. The branded merch is top draw and the price is more than reasonable. If you're looking for fitness, confidence or just self defence...DMAF in Oadby is the place to do it.

He has dyspraxia and ADHD and the classes have done him the world of good and we have noticed definite changes in his fitness, balance and confidence. Fantastic experience: This place is Amazing! My 4 year old twins have been attending for only 2 months now. But I have seen such an incredible self-confidence boost in both of them. They both talk about their classes to everyone they meet, and even show off their punches/kicks. The staff are amazing. They are all so friendly and welcoming. The trainers Livvy and Celeste are fantastic with the kids. My boys even starting calling Marie 'Grandma' Deacon lol. Its so easy to swap lessons if needed via the app. My boys do get sick often so this is very handy and they never miss anything. Mark/Charlene and Sushiela reply to any queries so fast, even though they must be very busy. They are so professional and friendly. Im so glad I found this karate class for my boys! All the staff are friendly and kind and both Livvy and Celeste have been brilliant at encouraging the kids, building their skills and confidence. Marie on reception is really funny too!

Fantastic experience: My 4 year old has been attending now for about 8/9 weeks and has already progressed to yellow belt. He is loving it, excited to attend every Saturday. Staff are all friendly from the receptionist, instructors and little helpers in the class.

Classes are friendly and supportive and have really increased my child’s confidence and self esteem. Her fitness has improved and using their app means that she can also practice for her belts at home. There are different classes for all sorts of ages and abilities. Would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I honestly couldn’t recommend DMAF highly enough. My 8 year old daughter has been attending for a year now, and has progressed so much in that time with guidance from the excellent instructors, not to mention the friendly, supportive atmosphere that DMAF creates. I can also personally recommend the men’s/dad’s class that launched recently; fun, challenging, and Mark’s a great instructor – no matter what level of fitness or experience you’re at, he gives you the confidence and tools to improve. Again – highly, highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my husband searched and searched for a good Martial Arts academy for our at the time 5 year old to attend, DMAF was the only one where we both felt it was right, she joined over a year ago and we have never regret the decision, she loves the classes and the staff from reception to the coach as well as the helpers really do make it the best place for you to learn martial arts.

Fantastic experience: This a great place to learn kickboxing. Mark and Celeste are great instructors. I joined the ladies class held on Fridays along with my 13 year old daughter last year. It's a great way for her to be active and also learn to look after herself physically. Celeste makes the classes fun even when she makes you do burpies followed by sit ups and then more burpies, she always make it a fun session. Keep up the great work. The studio has the right look for kickboxing too.

Fantastic experience: Been bringing my eldest for 2 years and my little one started a few months ago. They adore it here. It's built my eldests confidence and teaches them both discipline. I've found it invaluable for their development. Love DMAF.

Fantastic experience: My daughter began training with Mark and Celeste at DMAF several weeks ago. She was nervous before her first class but she was immediately made to feel welcome and included. Her entire first weeks training was free to attend, so she was able to go to numerous classes in that first week, so we were able to find one that best suited our busy timetable. Plus it helped her make a few new friends! In the relatively short time she has been attending the classes, I am amazed at the progress she has made. She always looks forward to her classes and enjoys the different elements involved in each session, which includes not only pad/bag work but also incorporates fitness games into the session to keep the kids active and helps to improve their fitness. Mark and Celeste are both excellent coaches, each with many years of experience and the kids love them. I should note, that my daughter attends the Little Ninjas class for the 4-7 y/o’s and the pace and structure of the sessions is very age appropriate. In short, I’m very impressed with everyone I’ve met at DMAF and in the company in general. Cant recommend them highly enough.

My son aged 5 absolutely loves going and has helped him burn off some energy, helped with attention span and has kept him focused and strong. Fantastic experience: I've just moved to dmaf from another school, and I wish I had found deacons martial arts and fitness first, because it's not all about taking your money with Mark, he really wants you to improve yourself and do well, which wasn't the case at my old school, which I'll choose not to mention, so if you are thinking of having a go I would highly recommend mark., five out of five stars without a doubt.

Fantastic experience: My 2 children have been coming to DMA for just over 3 months after attending another Martial Arts place for 2 years and they love it. They have learnt so much in a short space of time. The trainers are fun but also strict and i feel that this has helped alot. I nolonger have an issue getting them to attend 2 times a week for a total of 4 sessions. Keep up the good work.

Fantastic experience: Deacons Martial Arts is an excellent family run business in Leicestershire. Mark has set up a superb kickboxing gym in his new establishment and the club continues to go from strength to strength. Mark is a fantastic coach and lovely bloke. He is great with both kids and adults, and understands the finer points of working with people to achieve their goals. Whether you want to earn a black belt, fight competitively, or just get fit and lose weight, Mark can help you. He is an expert in nutrition and fitness and offers transformation challenges for those wanting to get fit, as well as various kickboxing classes, for all ages and levels. I joined the club a year and half ago after searching for a local club and it's honestly the best decision I couldve made.

He loves the mixture of exercise / techniques that each lesson contains, and the really friendly atmosphere at the club. Would thoroughly recommend DMAF to anyone thinking of and extra curricular activity for their child !

Fantastic experience: We went to a few places looking for the right training for Dante, luckily we were invited to a birthday party at Deacons where we have not looked back. Our son Dante (6)looks forward to every class he goes to, wanting to learn everything he can and practising the moves he learns during the week, in his own time.Deacons do not put pressure on anyone you can learn at you own pace, all the children I have seen there always have smiling faces before during and after the classes, Mark and the family are always trying to involve all the families with different ideas, from photo sessions, school holiday activities, barbacues and the like. We find it a fun place and thoroughly recommend it as a learning institution for confidence building and exercise, we'd rather our son do things physically than on an gaming machine. We find them honest so you don't pay more than you should, if you're ready or not for grading they tell you what you need to practise, if you're not ready they let you know. We have recommended Deacons to all our friends and family. JohnN

Fantastic experience: For me, the 8 week transformation, was the perfect way to kick start a much healthier lifestyle, without the inevitable confusion about what I was and wasn’t supposed to be eating, and how much exercise I was supposed to be doing. Mark breaks everything down for you and makes it so incredibly easy to follow the program. My favourite parts? The workouts and the consistent help with nutrition. I can honestly say I'm getting fitter, stronger and leaner! Best decision I made and would highly recommend the 8 week transformation plan to anyone willing and wanting to kick-start their fitness journey!

Fantastic experience: DMAF is an excellent club. Mark Deacon is a good role model and his sessions are challenging yet fun for his students. My son has joined the club about 18 months ago and this is the only club he has attended for that length of time. Having recently completed the transformation programme I have lost weight, feel stronger and more energetic. Mark is great at helping you to achieve your goals. The transformation sessions are designed to tone and trim and are a good all round workout. I would definitely recommend DMAF if you are interested in joining a martial arts class or are looking to lose weight and improve your fitness levels.

Fantastic experience: My boys aged 5 and 6 have been coming to Mark for karate lessons for a year and a half now and they absolutely love it. The club is really friendly, with lessons good fun but very disciplined as well. They have made some great friends outside of school and are steadily working their way up the grades, children are encouraged to work hard but they aren't pressured to do so. I would highly recommend Deacons Martial Arts to anyone thinking of learning karate in Leicester.

Fantastic experience: WOW is the first word that comes to mind! My children both 8yrs & 5yrs are having a fabulous experience at this club! Highly recommend it! Club owner and instructor Mark is ace! He's easy going and a natural with the kids, making the whole experience of learning the techniques and keeping fit fun and thoroughly enjoyable! The club recently had a make over and put it this way once you see it you will be hooked!

Fantastic experience: Definately recommend this Martial Arts class it was recommended to me by Kalpesh, who gave me a well deserved recommendstion of Marks classes, so thank you. My son has been attending Deacons Martial Arts sessions for nearly one and a half years, he started when he was 7 years old. He loves attending his classes and has grown in confidence and progressed very well. He currently is graded at a green belt. He started with the little ninja class and now attends a more advanced class early on a Saturday morning and he is always the first one up on a Saturday morning getting ready for his class. This shows us how much he enjoys his class and the dedication Mark instills in his pupils. I like the fact it is a family run business which has a welcoming environment and run to a high standard with policy and procedures in place to reassure parents. The confidence building is one of the main benefit I would say most students gain not just in Martial Arts but generally. The next stage for my son is sparring to progress to the next level and he has attended a trail session, now it is about fitting the class in. I would give it 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: Me and my children joined Deacons four weeks ago and are already totally addicted! The classes are fun and you come away feeling like you have learnt so much and have worked really hard. Mark is a great coach, always making everyone laugh and pays each idividual enough attention to make sure you are doing all the moves correctly. Being able to be in the same class as my children is brilliant and means we get to spend time quality time together doing something we all enjoy. Thanks Mark.
