Fantastic experience: I have just about completed my 30 day trial at Project Y training, and it's been amazing! I was so nervous about starting, but the coaches are all fantastic, so helpful and welcoming. I haven't felt so confident in myself for a long time. Fantastic experience: A REAL AND GENUINE LIFESTYLE CHANGE !!! Protect Y is amazing ! I joined only 3 months ago and was amazed how you very quickly become part of the Community there. Everyone is so very friendly and supportive!! My Induction with my Coach was so in-depth, it made me feel safe immediately and I realised this was not “an ordinary Gym” where you walk around looking and trying bits of equipment - that you’re not really sure about ! Our classes are well planned and our Coaches are aware of each individuals abilities, strengths and goals. They support you with regular reviews and are so motivational. Following a hip replacement a few years ago, I had gradually become more immobile, not eating well and generally feeling unhealthy and continuously tired, plus becoming out of breathe whilst going up any stairs, and almost unable to tie my own shoe laces. Now I can do all of the above again- and more, as my mobility, strength and confidence increase week on week. I feel so much more alive and involved in life in general and can even run about with my Grandchildren- joining in with their games - instead of just watching !! I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone- of any age - on any level. I even see Progressional Athletes there training . THIS TRULY WORKS ON EVERY LEVEL !! I was told by a very good friend there “Just stick with the process” and you will see the results and I most definitely have !! Thank you so much Project Y

Fantastic experience: I hadn't done any form of training for over 30 years but knew i had to address my health & lose weight. I Spoke with Joe & it sounded like what i was looking for. I have just completed a 1 month trial and I love it ! You are made welcome by everyone straight away, the coaches (Joe, Alex,Beth & Elliott) are great, friendly, answer any & all questions and always around to support and advise. The varied training session times are great if you need to work around your job. Always look forward to my next session.....which anyone who knows me, would tell you, that really isn't like me ! Give it a go, you will love it.
Fantastic experience: I have just completed my 4 week trial at ProjectYTraining and have signed up to continue my fitness journey with them. My previous trainer led gym closed three years ago and I have floundered trying the self directed route and just not gone to the gym but paid a membership. I saw an advert for ProjectYTraining on Facebook and decided to give it a chance. Within the four weeks of being there I feel healthier, motivated and more positive generally about myself. I would recommend ProjectYTraining to anyone who feels anxious about joining a gym or having a trainer as the coaches are friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and supportive and tailor the sessions to you as an individual and we’re you’re at from beginner to experienced. The gym members are another support and no one judges you there. I don’t regret joining ProjectYTraining at all.
Fantastic experience: Just take the leap! I was really nervous before my first session, but Alex picked up on that straight away and completely took the pressure off. He made me feel comfortable, supported, and like I belonged there from the start. The whole team is amazing. Every coach is friendly, encouraging, and genuinely wants to help you grow, both physically and mentally. There’s no judgment, just good energy and real support. It’s not just a place to train, it’s a community full of great people who lift each other up. If you’re thinking about it, take the leap! 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Fantastic experience: The gym is a welcoming, friendly and safe space in which to make your goals a reality. The staff are super patient, supportive and really take the time to listen to your concerns, goals and ambitions. I was apprehensive about getting back into a gym environment after a long illness, but I realised soon enough that I need not be and with guidance and belief, any worry soon disappears. Fantastic experience: I have just finished my third week with Project Y and can't thank the team enough for their encouragement and support. I was extremely nervous to begin with as I have not used any other gym before, however the team and all the other gym members are so friendly and welcoming and make everything fun. All of the coaches are professional but bring with them a great sense of humour, kindness and they encourage you to progress at your own pace. Would highly recommend to everyone regardless of current level of fitness.

Fantastic experience: I joined Project Y in December, and in 4 weeks have lost 6.3kg fat and gained 1.2kg muscle. Can't wait until the next weigh in ha. I've never joined a gym before as the environment makes me feel quite anxious. Project Y feels very different as it's much smaller and you get a huge amount of support from fellow members and the trainers. Joe, Beth and Alex (trainers) are very helpful and informative and always have time for me if I need advice or additional pointers (which I often do as this whole thing is very new to me). I recommend Project Y very highly.
A 6.3kg fat loss and 1.2kg muscle gain in just 4 weeks is an incredible achievement—huge well done!

Fantastic experience: I joined Project Y right at the inception after a dabble with CrossFit and a historical complete inability to follow gym programmes on my own. I needed a gym that could support and encourage me, where I wasn't made to feel stupid or out of place as a beginner, that wasn't intimidating, that felt more like a family than a gym. And that's what I found in Project Y. Alex, Joe and Beth provide high calibre small group PT that has allowed me get fitter and to keep PBing my lifts, even after several years (and several frustrating injuries from other sports). 100% recommend Project Y if you're looking for supportive environment to begin your fitness journey or fancy a change of environment to keep progressing. And there's coffee... and sometimes cake...and always lols.

Fantastic experience: Really enjoying being at Project Y. Coaches are awesome and very supportive. It’s a really nice community and whatever your level you’re accepted. I definitely feel fitter and to be honest, now that I’ve been training here I’ve realised that when I used to go to my old gym I wasn’t really making good use of my time. Here I know that I’ve worked hard and got something out of every session. I’ve definitely pushed my self a lot more than I could have training alone. If you’re thinking of joining - do it. You won’t regret it.

Fantastic experience: Just great, I can’t recommend Project Y training enough. The small group personal training sessions give a purpose and progression to my training I would never achieve on my own. The coaches are supportive & knowledgeable. From the first time you walk in the door you are welcomed in, the fact that you never know who you’re going to be working with during a session means you soon get to know your fellow members.

Fantastic experience: Alex, Joe and Beth have something special going on at Project Y. From day 1 I've been made to feel welcome and valued as part of the community of people who train at this gym. I was one of those people that wandered around a gym with no real structure or intent, pretty clueless as to what I should be doing to gain some progress with my fitness. On joining Project Y I found excellent facilities paired with knowledgeable, encouraging coaches. Perhaps most importantly, accountability! For someone who leads a busy life, with family and running a business. Being able to book my session, turn up and have it all planned out works so well for me and my fitness goals. I even encouraged my wife to join and now it's become an argument over who does which session! Project Y is now a non negotiable of our week, we love it! Keep it up guys!

Fantastic experience: The BEST place to train in Hull! I joined Project Y over two years ago, and it has transformed my approach to fitness. I struggled when starting work out of uni, to find routine and having accountability for exercise. Joe, Alex and Beth are amazing at providing the structure, accountability and all round good vibes to make exercise something that I not only enjoy, but look forward to. From someone who couldn't even lift a barbell when I first joined, to now training regularly and continuing to make progress in both my fitness and strength. The sessions push you, whilst keeping in mind your individual goals & concerns; it truly is adapted for everyone. Don't think twice about joining - you'll never regret it!

Fantastic experience: I joined Project Y seven months ago, overweight and unhappy with myself. I was really anxious but as soon as I opened the door the coaches made me feel really welcome as did the PY community. The coaches have a wealth of knowledge and their attention to detail is second to none, they tailor both exercise and nutrition to you and your ability. I’m seeing unbelievable results too, PY has become a way of life for me, getting up at 7am is a total pleasure. I only wish I’d done it sooner. Fantastic experience: I've been at Project Y since the start of May. I have learnt so much through the coaches and constantly trying new things, whether that be going up in weight or trying a new exercise or changing how i do an excercise. I feel it has grown my confidence within the gym. The coaches are fab and always make you feel welcome and comfortable with what you are doing within your workout. Fantastic experience: Joining Project Y is the best decision I’ve made this year! I can’t thank the coaches Beth, Joe & Alex enough, their support and encouragement is second to none. At the beginning of the year I never thought I would be going to a gym! The main reason being a massive lack of confidence, I made those first steps and I’ve no intention of quitting now!! Fantastic experience: I have been going to project Y for the past 6 months and I have to say this is by far the best gym I have ever went to, I have done other gyms before but not be able to stick at them and for the first time I enjoy going. It’s not just a gym it’s a community as well and everyone is so nice and helpful and you can also have a good laugh. The coaches are the best in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire and I would highly recommend Project Y to anyone. The coaches are very knowledgeable and if you have any questions or problems with training especially for me with having problems with my elbow after completing smashing up my elbow in 2019 after a quad bike accident I never thought I would be able to train properly again but after been at project Y they have been able to tailor my training to suit me and now I’m starting to see gains and becoming stronger which I never thought I would ever be able to do that.

Fantastic experience: Joined up for a six week course, excellent guidance and instruction on what to do and how to achieve. Fantastic experience: I joined Project Y in January 2024 and it’s hands down the best decision I have ever made! I suffer with an underlying health condition and was worried if I’d be able to keep up. My mind was quickly put at ease as all coaches are amazing, knowledgeable and offer adaption (if needed) to allow me to continue to get what I need out of the session without giving up (which I have previously done). Not only are the coaches friendly and welcoming but so are the other members and I couldn’t imagine doing my fitness journey anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: What do I love about Project Y??? Short answer…….Everything. Long answer……..The coach’s challenge me more than I would challenge myself so the results I am getting are better than if I was training on my own. Joe, Alex and Beth all have different training styles so you never get bored and you can see they are all 100% committed to giving you the best experience possible. Last time I went to a gym before this was about 15 years ago so I was a little nervous as to what to expect but I love every minute of it even when it is challenging and I am seeing results, feeling stronger, losing weight and way less aches and pains. Fantastic experience: Project Y is by far the best gym in Hull if not in the whole of East Riding! The coaches are amazing and so knowledgable. I’ve lost weight, gained muscle mass and strength. But most importantly it changed my lifestyle and approach not only to exercising but how I eat too. The community in PY is amazing too! Every class is challenging but in best possible way. Fantastic experience: I joined Project Y seven weeks ago and for anyone thinking about it - take that first step, it is so worth it. In the seven weeks I have been attending, I have lost 10kg and still going strong! The coaches Joe, Alex & Beth have been fantastic and so supportive. The community they have built is so welcoming. I have gone from someone who would sometimes feel too nervous to even walk into a gym to someone who looks forward to the days my sessions are scheduled. This is the best I have felt about my health, nutrition and fitness in my adult life and it’s only just the beginning. Fantastic experience: I have been training at Project Y since December '23. All 3 coaches are informed, knowledgeable and so supportive! I have always struggled with knee injury/pain and with their help this has eased, so much so, day to day life is pain free. It is a great community to be apart of, everyone there to help each other out and keep each other accountable. 100% the best decision I made for my physical and mental health. Fantastic experience: I’ve been training now for a few years but always struggled to maintain consistency when it comes to the Intensity of the session. I would have a few months of solid training, then the intensity would drop off gradually. This isn’t an option at Y Training, in every session you are pushed by Alex and Joe along with those around you. Although everyone at the gym is at different stages in their fitness journey, we all give 100% every time. This sense of accountability has been the biggest factor for me, There is no option to coast or slack off….. This is exactly what I needed. I’ve seen some great progress over the last 6 months and look forward to seeing my progress over the coming year.

Fantastic experience: Through my journey in fitness, I have always struggled with regularity in my gym visits and workouts. I have always played sport so would consider myself to have a good fitness base but I’ve never felt comfortable in a gym environment. However, since starting at Project Y, I have maintained a minimum of three weekly sessions for the past five months and the intensity of these workouts always challenges me. The community at Project Y is very welcoming, I was weary of attending and there been professional gym goers who all lifted big weights but everyone is at their own level and no one is perfect at all of the exercises. Everyone needs help at some point with their form, Joe & Alex are always on hand and make it feel like a one to one PT session. This environment has truly made my gym experience remarkably fulfilling. For the first time, I find myself genuinely relishing my time at the gym, benefitting from consistency, and seeing results.

Fantastic experience: I started with Project Y just over a month ago after a recommendation from a friend and completed a 4-week trial. I have really enjoyed going and have just signed up for my first proper month! I think what really made me decide this was the gym for me was the fact I have become more confident in how I work out. Joe and Alex have really worked with me, and listened to my queries and concerns around certain movements. This has meant I am now doing exercises I have always shied away from and I am starting to see a big difference as a result. My technique has improved and I am lifting heavier weights without hurting myself. The group sessions are just what I need; focussed and full of 1 on 1 support with the added bonus of a team of people there to cheer you on for the final set. I think the biggest sign that these guys are great is that I happily, without coercion attend the 6am classes.

Fantastic experience: Joining Joe and Alex at Project Y has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. 10 weeks ago my weight was spiralling and my mental health was at an all time low. Fantastic experience: So much attention to detail when it comes to Alex & Joe, ( best coaches about ) nothing is ever to much for them to correct you on the movements and form of the exercises your doing, superb training facility, the Saturday session are not to be missed, more then a gym, more like a family of like minded individuals, keep up the awesome work guys.

Fantastic experience: I came to these guys last November not knowing whether I could train due to an ankle issue that I was awaiting surgery on. Fantastic experience: Signed up 3 months ago after never lifting weights before. Although is not a weights only gym, the attention to detail and patience with techniques is brilliant. After recently suffering from lower back pains, Joe and Alex have found ways to eliminate the pain using multiple methods but ultimately getting the job done. Fantastic experience: After following Project Y on Instagram for many months, I finally decided to join their trial and now I’m fully signed up and invested in what they do - wish I started sooner! Fantastic experience: Project Y was exactly what I was looking for when it opened. Coaches Alex and Joe are well informed PTs who take into account all angles when training you. Fantastic experience: If your looking for a new gym this is the place to be. They will encourage and coach to get the best out of you, which in my case is quite a challenge. Due to different niggles or various aches & pains, they never gave up on me, proving that I can do it, and after a testing session have shown me how much I have improved. Fantastic experience: Where to start! I started Project Y in the middle of May as a complete novice, especially to this style of training. I was actually pretty nervous starting as I thought everyone would be really advanced and I would stick out like a sore thumb. That wasn’t the case at all! The community is fantastic and the members are all so enthusiastic. Alex, Joe and Beth gave me lots of support, guided me through everything and were always extremely patient with me. Their knowledge and experience goes such a long way. Two and a half moths in I am eating more than I was before I started, losing weight, feeling stronger every single week and hitting PBs every week! There are some areas I struggle with more than others, but they take their time and go through everything step by step so I never feel embarrassed or like I can’t do something. I’m excited to carry on my journey with Project Y and see what I can achieve. I can’t recommend this place enough, especially for those who want to make amazing progress with their health and strength

Fantastic experience: An unrivalled strength and fitness service in Hull and East Yorkshire. The small sized group class environment creates motivation and makes you turn up, but the level of detail makes it feel like it's catered just for you and your goals! Whatever level of experience you have in exercise/strength training, from absolute novice to years of experience in the field, they'll increase your confidence and ability. If you turn up, they'll do the rest! It's about as close to guaranteed success as you're likely to get

Fantastic experience: Amazing place to train. A friend convinced me to try it and I am so greatful she did. I had never lifted weights before and I couldn't do a walking lung without falling over. Now I'm a month in and I can already feel the improvement in myself. Everyone is so supportive, friendly and there is 0 judgment. The trainers really know their stuff and I felt completely at ease from day one. Fantastic place all round.

Fantastic experience: ProjectY Training is a great place for ACTUAL training as both your body and resolve will be pushed to the limit. The carefully curated sessions are all intense, leaving you and the rest of the group totally dead . But that's what we signed up for -- to be trained not pampered. I feel much stronger and able to sleep better at night after only four months of joining ProjectY Training. I highly recommend Joe and Alex! They really know their stuff. Plus, you will both like and hate them (but in the best possible way) after attending each session

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Project Y for a couple of months and at first I was nervous as I had been doing home workouts for years and had recently had surgery and thought I would be 'the weak link' but I wasn't made to feel like that at all. The community that train here are extremely welcoming and supportive and Alex and Joe adapted every exercise to suit my needs. They teach you to understand your body and when you need to push and when you need to rest to avoid injury. They focus on keeping you consistent and accountable without making you feel pressured which I was always concerned about with this type of training. I've been able to partake in exercises I never thought I'd be able to since surgery and have the confidence that I can keep pushing myself with the support of coaches who know what they're doing!

Fantastic experience: I am a shift worker, unfortunately I can not attend all the sessions. This is taken into account and when I am able to attend, the training is tailored to my skill/needs. This has been evident when learning how to hang/power clean. The attention to detail (technique) is exemplary. The coaches get to know the customers and give positive feedback when needed. Or in my case know when to push me to improve my standards. I recommend Project Y to all levels of gym users.

Fantastic experience: I’ve trained with Joe and Alex for 3.5 years and they have helped me change my lifestyle completely! Before I would binge eat, have low self esteem, had no idea what I was doing in the gym and lead a very unhealthy lifestyle 3.5 years on I have lost over a third of my body weight, gained confidence and energy, I’m the fittest and strongest I have ever been and I’m addicted to training (ie never miss a session I book onto - not in a weird obsessive way lol) Not only have they helped me on my weight loss journey but they ensured I felt confident and safe whilst I was pregnant and now post pregnancy. I’ve also made some fab friends along the way Now, my main focus is has shifted towards getting even stronger and fitter as well as being the best role model for my daughter training and nutrition wise This gym isn’t just a gym it’s a community of like minded people that all help motivate and support everyone whether they’ve been on the scene a few days, weeks, months or years! I’m so glad that once self conscious girl put her big girl pants on and joined a class with the team!

Fantastic experience: After years of doing cardio classes, I wanted to learn about strength and resistance training. Fantastic experience: What a place. After signing up for the month trial I was anxious that I'd feel completely out of depth but Joe and Alex have done so much to help my confidence when it comes to fitness, particularly lifting weights which is something I've never been comfortable with before. They're always on hand to give extra pointers if you're struggling with form, spending time to explain the science and mechanics behind each move to help even the most novice of gymgoers and then pushing you to up the weight when you're confident with a movement. The atmosphere is great and everybody is friendly; there's a real community buzz which is great to see as it just adds another layer to the workout and makes you push yourself even harder. I'm excited to see my progress continue (even on the Ski machine) and know that with Joe and Alex I'm in safe hands. If you're thinking about signing up, just do it - you honestly won't regret it.

Fantastic experience: I've been training at Project Y for about 9 months now. When I started I could barely squat and had never picked up a barbell. Through Alex and Joe's patient coaching I have literally gone from strength to strength. Project Y is group personal training. In a class of between 1 and 12. It is 100% worth it over your usual gym membership. A proper programme, with direct in person feedback and a community of people on the same journey makes such a difference. Before starting I thought that I would be out of place in a gym like this, but Project Y is genuinely for anyone who wants to take their health and fitness seriously and improve, whatever their starting point. There is a starter month option, so basically, if you have got this far, stop reading and sign up!

Fantastic experience: If you want to improve your health, have personal trainers who have your best interest at heart and tailor fitness level to suit you, then look no further. I felt apprehensive walking through the door first time and upon meeting the team and the group, I had nothing to fear. The team and group are friendly and give a warm welcome every time I walk through the door. My fitness colleagues also make the whole experience enjoyable. Attending these sessions allows me to take accountability of what goal I want to achieve and changes I want to make. Trainers Jo and Alex help make that goal become a reality. I feel much fitter, have more self esteem, more confidence, getting more toned, losing weight and I have gained much more strength. I look forward to my sessions, yes it is hard work at times, but it does get easier with each session you attend. I'm challenged with new workouts, and I walk out feeling that I have achieved what I set out to achieve...Change. Fantastic experience: I've been going to semi-private PT groups for the past 8 years, and Project Y since February this year. Although I love lifting weights and working out I find it difficult to stick to both healthy nutrition and going to the gym due to my lifestyle and work commitments, however Joe and Alex have been amazing at helping me find a good balance and encouraging me to stick to it. They have built a fabulous community at the gym; there are all types of shapes, sizes, ages and people who all support and motivate each other. It is really welcoming, especially to new members. Fantastic experience: 2 years ago I was struggling with my gym routine and general fitness. I got tired of turning up to a commercial gym not having a planned session and just going through the motions. I decided to take the plunge and work with Alex and Joe 2 years ago and honestly it is the best decision I made about my training. The sessions are structured, goal specific, and I am in the best shape of my life and also the fittest. I am turning 32 in one month and to be able to say I’m in the best shape of my life because of ProjectY should not be overlooked.
