Division 2 and Division 3 Slalom This race takes place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October, you can enter either day or both days. The 19th clashes with the Barrow Race, which The Sharks are attending. We will have coaches at Symonds Yat on Sunday.
The Barrow Series is Back. Starting on Saturday 19th October, this Wild Water Race is suitable for all standards. It is 3k on a twisty moving stream with no rocks and is a fun way to get into the finest of sports.
Local companies raising money for charity We have launched the Harlesden Charity Canoe Race, which aims to raise money to help charities that work in our community. A wet month, but a busy month During September we had over 100 regular new paddlers attending each week! Working with our partners and local schools, this is a brilliant achievement.
Wild Water and Slalom A small team of Sharks were racing at Langham Far the weekend, in an old style event with practice and team runs on Saturday, with a Wild Water Race added in for some extra fun, and the individual events on Sunday.
6 Triathlons in 6 Months Shark paddler Fleur Harman has raced in 6 Triathlons, in 6 Counties in 6 months, to highlight the 6 symptoms of Sepsis and to raise money for the Sepsis Trust. Listen to Fleur’s very personal message which motivated this challenge.
Another Busy Month We had over 1,000 paddlers on the water during the Summer Holidays, raced in two competitions, one breaking our record for number of Shark Paddlers.
Cardington Slalom Results late ’24 A Shiver of 15 Sharks attended Cardington Slalom at the weekend, making it our largest team at any one event. Well done to everyone who took part, it was a great weekend, introducing many newcomers to the discipline. Setting a new target for future events!
Going from strength to Strength Our Marathon team is growing and our results are looking good, time come and join us, paddle at new locations and have a fun day out kayaking.
What a Great day! The Sharks had an amazing day at the Thamesmead Festival on Saturday, hosting a Come and try it day on Southmere Lake, we had over 200 people getting in canoes and kayaks throughout the day.
Aimed at slalom paddlers from 7pm We will be holding a pool session at Horsenden School Pool on Friday 27th September from 7pm till 8:15pm. This is specifically aimed at our slalom paddlers and we will be using slalom boats for capsize drills and rolling.
Mondays and Wednesdays from 5pm We will be resuming our regular Summer sessions at Harlesden Canalside on Monday 15th April from 5pm. We have sessions for beginners and more experienced paddlers, contact us on 07951 770241; email: [email protected].
Pool Rolling Sessions We have recently had some of our paddlers successfully learning to roll at our pool sessions at Horsenden School Pool. Well done to those who have, probably shouldn’t say look forward to seeing you use these newly acquired skills for real.

The Sharks is a Club with a difference, we have a mission to get people active, having fun is the best way to be active, the best way to learn and the best way to succeed. As a Club we operate in the community bringing sport to people, we work closely with local authorities and other organisations in West London to maximise the number of people we can get actively involved. We hold sessions in Harefield, Greenford, Southall, Uxbridge, Osterley Park and Hayes.

The October Slalom 5th & 6th. Please note due to high river levels this is now only a Division 2 event. Shepperton Divisions 2 and 3 slalom takes place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October, time to get your entries in.

Thursday 3rd October The Great Harlesden Charity Canoe Race is being held on Thursday 3rd October 2024. This will be an annual challenge event for local (and maybe not so local) companies and organisations to help raise money for charity.
This event has been cancelled due to technical problems with pumps. This event takes place on the artificial course in Northampton, just over an hour’s drive from North West London. It is a great day out, with changing facilities and showers.
