Fantastic experience: After too many years of avoiding the gym, or any strength exercises really, I found myself with a hip issue. I chose Dan to help me with my rehab & strengthening. He was great. Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of working with Dan for over a year, and I couldn’t recommend him more highly. He is extremely knowledgeable, not just about strength training but also about proper form and injury prevention. One of my biggest challenges was a weak shoulder, and Dan helped me strengthen it significantly while ensuring I trained safely and effectively. It was great to see that you didn't let a sore shoulder stop you, and with a well written programme we were able to strengthen that shoulder so it wouldn't prevent you from doing the exercises you enjoy such as bench pressing, shoulder pressing, chest fly's, and even learning how to do strongman log pressing!

Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Dan highly enough! He is incredibly knowledgeable and always had the answers to any questions I had. Not only did I make fantastic progress in a short space of time, but I genuinely enjoyed every session. Dan doesn’t just motivate you to push through ‘one more rep’; he also takes the time to teach you about muscles, biology, diet, and recovery from mild injuries. When I was struggling to lose weight, Dan worked with me to adapt my diet and workout regime, helping me finally achieve my goals. Later, when I hit a wall with building muscle, he adjusted everything again to keep me progressing. Every time I faced a challenge, Dan seemed to have the perfect solution. Fantastic experience: I recently completed Dan’s 6 week kickstarter programme. Dan’s training and support was exceptional during the process leading to significant strength improvements as well as supporting me with getting into a healthier routine that I have continued with since the programme. During the programme I injured my knee and Dan flexibly re-arranged the sessions and built recovery exercises in which led to a speedy recovery and also increased my understanding of proper recovery. Fantastic experience: I have been training with Dan for over a year. I wanted to find a knowledgeable trainer who knew how to work with injuries and Dan has helped me so much physically and mentally. After an injury that I was struggling with for a few years and numerous physio visits with no progress, Dan knew exactly what exercises and stretches would help me build back strength. He tailors sessions to my needs and every week is an improvement. I have even started exercising on my own after losing confidence and motivation. I would recommend Dan to anyone who is looking for guidance and support in anyway they need to get back on track with their fitness.

Fantastic experience: I trained with Dan for 3 months to get more confident with weights and learn what exercises are good for my body. He was a fantastic personal trainer and I am so glad that I did it. Dan is really knowledgeable about the science behind why and how to do exercises correctly and this always leads to an informative and safe session. I would recommend Dan to anyway who is interested in personal training, especially if you want to improve form and your knowledge of how to use equipment.

I’m incredibly accident prone so having someone like Dan who could adapt sessions and tailor them to support and strengthen injuries was so helpful and made me feel very safe while still being challenged. Fantastic experience: In my mid-thirties, I put on almost 2 stone and tried for 5 years to lose this weight by myself following the same diet and exercise regimes that had worked for me in my late twenties. Whatever the reason, the things that worked in my past were not working for me anymore. After years of dieting, practically starving myself and working out 5 to 6 days a week with no energy, I felt awful and saw almost no results. It was pretty miserable! No matter what I did, I couldn’t lose the weight I’d gained. At 40, I’d had enough, I’d recently gotten engaged and didn’t want to look back on wedding photos of myself where I wasn’t 100% happy with how I looked, but it wasn’t just about my physical appearance, my smart watch started to tell me that my resting heart rate was getting higher, and that was the alarm bell that I needed to get help. I decided that it was time to try something completely new and put my trust in a professional. So, after doing a bit of Googling, I decided to contact StAPT for a consultation. This is when I met Dan. I told Dan about my weight difficulties and goals, and he listened to what I had to say without any judgement. It almost made me feel quite emotional saying out loud to a stranger that I didn’t like the way I looked (I hadn’t admitted this to anyone else) and explaining the frustration of trying to lose weight for years and failing, but Dan completely understood, made me feel at ease, and explained how he could help. I signed up for the 12-week programme because I wanted to commit to seeing the transformation that my health needed and I’m really glad that I chose this option. I almost opted for 6 weeks, after trying to lose weight for so long on my own a bit of me expected this not to work and I didn’t want to be disappointed, but I decided to take the plunge and go all in. Looking back, I would have seen good results in 6 weeks, but within 12 weeks everything changed dramatically and I’m so glad I chose this option. By the end of the 12-week plan, I’d lost 1.5 stone and saw a great improvement in both my general fitness and resting heart rate. I also saw a person that I recognised in the mirror again and felt relieved knowing that my heart health was back to where it should be. After finishing the 12-week plan I decided to stay on for another 4 weeks to keep going because it was working so well, and I enjoyed investing the time in myself. While Dan says that I did it all myself, I know I couldn’t have achieved this without him. After all, I did it by myself for 5 years and got nowhere, so I have proof! While it’s nice that Dan gives me all the credit, (and maybe a bit of it was down to me I guess, I'll take some credit!), I can’t thank him enough for helping me reach my goals by giving me the tools, training, and push I needed. I saw Dan 3 days a week for 16 weeks, after which Dan probably knew far too much about me, but I never felt stupid for asking him silly questions, he never charged me extra for the free CBT he provided, and it was always fun to spend time with him. I never once dreaded turning up to a session, and believe me, I’m not a gym bunny at all, I’d much rather eat cake, but I prioritised my time and made sure I always turned up and put the effort in, and I actually enjoyed it. If you're thinking of signing up; 100% do it, it’s worth the money and time, you won’t regret it, but you have got to show up for yourself by doing the work and following the nutritional guidance. If you do that then it will work. Thank you, Dan!

Fantastic experience: I trained with Dan for almost a year while I was living locally, and it was one of the best investments towards myself! Dan was great and was able to push and support me beyond what I thought I was capable of, and he introduced me to exercises (and muscles!) I wouldn't have worked on on my own. Dan has plenty of knowledge and expertise, was nothing but kind throughout training, and definitely gives the VIP experience to all his clients! (He was super understanding of my fluctuating schedule.) His private gym space is also an absolute plus as you're both able to just focus on YOU without distraction or comparison. Fantastic experience: I started training with Dan after rupturing my Achilles last year and the results have been brilliant. During the recovery I had gained a stone and lost all muscle and strength in my left leg. Over the period of 6 months Dan put a programme in place to specifically targeting my recovery but also my general conditioning. He helped he lose over 1.5 stone through a clear routine and dietary advice. He is one of the only trainers I’ve seen who understands a busy work schedule and how to still make an impact. I can’t recommend Dan highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I used StAPT in the run up to my wedding as I knew I needed accountability to get fit. Dan introduced me to lots of movements that I had never had the confidence or knowledge to try, like weightlifting. He really encouraged me and pushed me when needed too! Fantastic experience: I came to Dan with a torn ACL in August with an aim to strengthen the left leg and get me back playing football as soon as possible. By November I was 10kg lighter and back playing football again. The journey is the thing though because not only did Dan meet my number one objective he educated me on everything from anatomy, to diet, to posture, to muscle fatigue, to how to lift free weights safely, to encouraging me and inspiring me to keep going. I can't recommend him enough. He is gentle and supportive from the beginning to help you get some momentum and later on when you're feeling like a prize fighter he pushes you hard to help you break new ground. His studio has every piece of equipment you need at every stage and he diligently makes sure you know how to use each and every one of them. In my opinion and experience he is the best in St Albans. He even paired me up with a brilliant osteopath and they both drew up a joint recovery plan for me. He's brilliant. Work with Dan and he will help you get to where you need to go.

Fantastic experience: I have been training with Dan for just over two years now. I had a couple of objectives when I started, one was to lose weight and the other was to build strength to help improve my half-marathon running. I have been very impressed with Dan’s knowledge and the thought that goes into each session. I particularly enjoy the variety of exercises using weights, body weight and isometric exercises in equal measure to break things up. Sessions are structured and work through different muscle groups (not forgetting legs!!) and we keep a diary of exercises completed to monitor progress. Dan has also got to know my various aches and pains over the years so we approach certain areas with more care and focus much more on stretching those areas out before working on them. I have a very busy work schedule so I have found Dan to be flexible with timing and pro-active in ensuring I can get sessions completed. In terms of completing my objectives, I have definitely built strength and my body shape has changed (more toned) – I’m still working on the weight loss but that’s more about my diet and more cardio outside training sessions! I would definitely recommend Dan to others, each session is a great workout and he pushes me much more than I would push myself in the gym which is exactly what I need.
