Fantastic experience: I joined Five Gates more than three years ago and it's been the best decision I've made for my health, fitness and well-being. The coaches are really great, the atmosphere is welcoming and the members are friendly. Life is busy, so I love not having to plan my own exercise - just turn up for an extremely well planned and supported workout, that really does improve my strength and fitness. Since joining, I've improved and pushed myself in ways I never did when exercising alone. If you're worried about joining a gym, this is the one for you! You can work hard, within your own limits, and be guided and supported by great members and coaches.

Fantastic experience: Great full body workout session with both Andy and Martin at Five Gates at the Group PT sessions. Always a nice, friendly, group that doesn't feel intimidating at all. Trainers are good at checking in on form, which is important for me as I have terrible coordination . Feel sore after it (in a good way), definitely making a difference. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: For anyone nervous to join - truly don’t be. Having been in and out of gyms for years, even working at one and trying different PT’s, weight up and down and nervous to join any new gym or class etc - Five Gates is completely unique to what I have experienced before. I wanted to wait until I’d ‘seen results’ before posting a review as I am a new member, but the immediate result for me personally (incomparable to any form of inches lost or the scales reducing, albeit I know that will be a definite byproduct) is that I look forward to the sessions and I know whilst there I will be in a completely safe and supportive space, both with fellow members and also the coaches. It’s completely diverse in terms of capability, fitness levels, gender, body shape and yet the coaches ensure that the workouts are suitable, challenging enough and achievable for all. Everyone I’ve met so far employed by Five Gates, is so far away from the stereotypical ‘PT’ that I have ever met or worked with and really are coaches - kind, welcoming, supportive and also there to push you within safe psychological and physical parameters (translated: no one is screaming at you to do 10 more push ups boot camp style!).

Fantastic experience: I've been a member of various corporate gyms for over 35 years. I joined Five Gates in December 2021 when it opened and have remained since. The group classes are small (max 10), allowing great guidance from instructors. There's a variety of equipment and many classes fitting busy schedules. The environment is supportive, fostering a lovely community among members and instructors. Strength training at Five Gates has significantly benefited me. Now in my mid-50s, I've learned a lot and feel much stronger. For a friendly place to get fit and strong, try out Five Gates.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to five gates for over a year now and can see a huge improvement in my strength and overall fitness. The depth of knowledge and experience of the coaches is excellent, not only do you feel very welcome, they are great at giving tips and advice to improve performance. It’s a great atmosphere and the community of members are fab! I love that they offer strength, conditioning and cardio. For anyone considering starting out but unsure about not being fit enough or strong enough yet, I’d say go for it, it’s a safe and supportive environment to start from!

Fantastic experience: I’m 57, post menopausal and have been training at Five Gates for 15 months and could not enjoy it more. The sessions can be tough, but they are so well planned by Martin and his team, you know they’re worth the effort. I have gained much more strength and stability that it’s setting me up for far better aging and most importantly, an active retirement. The range of class times whether it be functional training, Pilates, Yoga or a great cardio session in boxing/kettlebells, it’s easy to plan your workouts in for the week. Not only has my physical strength improved, so has my mental health. Brain fog has lifted, I have a group of like-minded individuals surrounding me as we encourage each other. Martin and his team have built something very special at Five Gates.

Fantastic experience: Very highly recommended. I absolutely love this gym and the amazing community within it. I had been going to a local gym and struggling with any motivation. I was a bit nervous to join but within my first session I knew it was a great choice. The coaches and members were all so welcoming, I felt like I had been a member for years. The classes are so well structured and with a great variety of class times I’m able to get an incredible workout any day of the week. Fantastic experience: I was nervous when I first started at Five Gates, as I hadn’t really trained at a gym for a number of years. In a short space of time, morning sessions have become a normal part of my weekday routine. The coaches are all very supportive and help you get the most out of your session and avoid injuries. There is always a buzz about the place and I can say with absolute confidence that I’ve never left a session without feeling much better for the day ahead.

Fantastic experience: Five Gates has been the only gym I genuinely enjoy. It’s such a welcoming and friendly environment to train in and the atmosphere during sessions is always spot on and you leave on a high feeling positive. From the high level of professionalism and expertise of the coaches to the fellow members who all support each other regardless of where they’re at on their fitness journey, it’s a great community to be part of. I wouldn’t even consider training anywhere else!
Fantastic experience: I joined Five Gates in the west end of Glasgow around 6 months ago after seeking an overhaul for my fitness & health. I contacted Martin (the owner) on Instagram for a trial and he booked me in the next day - I was blown away. It’s a truly friendly gym environment and the workouts are challenging but manageable - everything is explained and I’ve been supported at every step in achieving my goals. Joining Five Gates has 100% improved my overall zest for life, my appearance (lost over 2 stones), my fitness, my mobility and most importantly being part of this community has improved my mental health. It possibly the best thing I’ve ever done for myself! The coaches are so patient and knowledgeable and my initial apprehension about joining a small group class was quickly replaced with excitement for my next session. There are loads of sessions to choose from (via a handy app!) - I usually go 3 times a week and mix between the small group PT strength sessions and rounds (which is a brilliant cardio session!). I’ve recommended Five Gates to all of my friends, some of whom have now joined too! Thank you so much for creating such an incredible gym - people certainly do make Five Gates! Highly recommend popping in for a trial if anyone is thinking about changing or improving their health and fitness. ❤️

Fantastic experience: I was never a gym guy, in fact my only 'workouts' were playing drums and cycling at a leisurely pace. Then my wife said 'come to Five Gates, give it a try'. I haven't looked back since. It's been 9 months and I could not love it more. The workouts are demanding but they go by fast. I feel great after each one. The trainers are amazing, the people are friendly and I feel like I have a little community in my newly adopted city of Glasgow. Could not recommend it more.

Fantastic experience: The atmosphere and facilities at Five Gates Fitness are brilliant - high energy, positive and really welcoming; every last detail has been thought of. The workouts themselves, whilst tough, cater for everyone, so you can scale up or down depending how you feel. Given the small class sizes, the coaching is bespoke so you really notice you are being looked after. I have trained in many gyms but I really can’t recommend Five Gates enough, give it a shot, you won’t regret it!

Fantastic experience: I’ve struggled on/off over the years with my fitness usually having an “all or nothing” approach. Five Gates has completely changed my mindset for the better. It is the only gym I’ve ever been to where I look forward to the workouts and feel consistently motivated because the Rounds (boxing/kettlebells) routines change weekly and Group PT routines monthly. Yoga class is tailored to stretches to help recover from the specific muscle groups used during the Rounds sessions that week. All of the trainers are so amazing - knowledgeable, friendly, patient and want you to get the best from your session. The sessions have a maximum of 6 or 10 people, I love this as I’ve had the opportunity to meet new people with similar goals who are all super friendly and supportive. I never in a million years thought I would enjoy exercise which included boxing and strength training. Week on week I notice little improvements in myself physically and mentally that is life changing. Can’t say enough good things about Five Gates - it’s the best :)

Fantastic experience: I love this class, so much so I travel 40 minutes most Saturday mornings to take part in the 8am class (mad, I know!) Fantastic experience: Five Gates is without a doubt the best gym I have ever been a member of. Each trainer has taught me so much from weight training to yoga, and I always feel like such a valued individual when I turn up to a class. I always look forward to the classes and leave feeling energised. The people and facilities are faultless, and the overall energy that the gym has is like no other. Despite being a younger member, I always felt extremely welcomed. I’ll really miss Five Gates but will be back one day to see the expanding gym and all of the people I got to know - best of luck Martin and everyone else, Fives Gates really has an exciting future

Fantastic experience: Excellent Boutique style gym owned and run by Martin McGinley, it specialises in boxing, HIIT and kettlebell workouts. 121 personal training is also available . If you want to do an intense but satisfying workout with a friendly crew then this is the place to do it. I absolutely love it there

Due to the small size of the classes (10 max per class), he is able to spend time with you individually and give you good guidance throughout the workouts. Fantastic experience: Brilliant, friendly and unique gym in the West End of Glasgow. Group sessions are a great mix of boxing, functional equipment and body weight training and are guaranteed to get you a fantastic full body work out. Martin, the Director, is very knowledgeable and an all round great guy - always planning fun sessions with an emphasis on good technique and maximum training benefits. To top it off the gym even has it's own Green Policy. Love this place - five stars all round.
Fantastic experience: This is small group training at it's best. Martin has created a real community feel with Five Gates Fitness. The workouts are tough, but they are so much fun. He has a unique ability to make the classes light hearted, whilst also making sure you learn about your body and the method of training. Fantastic experience: A really cool modern workout space with fantastic workouts mixing boxing and kettlebells. It feels different to any other class I’ve done before and with the classes being small it means you get help with your technique to get the most from your workout. Fantastic experience: Five Gates is a brilliant gym. The workouts are really intense and I’ve noticed my fitness improve dramatically. What I love about the sessions is that they are really fun, well designed and change every week so there is no time to get bored.
