Fantastic experience: Just started personal fitness training in Edinburgh with Sandy, and he's fantastic. I've found him to be incredibly personable and easy to get along with, brilliant at what he does, and has had an answer or advice for every question and issue I've had. A big factor for me in finding a coach were my autism and ADHD, and due to his knowledge of and experience with neurodivergent folk, I doubt I could have found a better personal trainer - I've already recommended him to folk in my support group.

Fantastic experience: Having never been a member of, or even used a gym before, I was a complete novice looking for some one on one support to get know the equipment and my limits to start. While already cardio fit, I was looking to add some general strengthening work to my routine. Sandy has been perfect for my fitness goals. He has been supportive of my aims, and encouraged me throughout to push myself; all within my limits. We started slow, so that Sandy could work out my level, and he tailored our sessions thereafter to ensure that there was constant progress without injury. In the three months of PT sessions, I've gained greater strength, and a confidence to attend and use the gym on my own. Sandy is such a positive and personable person to have by your side during a session. I cannot recommend his services any higher than the maximum 5 stars. It's been fun!

Fantastic experience: Sandy is a fantastic personal trainer. I initially went to Sandy for boxing training and thoroughly enjoyed it. He is extremely knowledgeable and explains the technique well so within just a couple of sessions I could feel myself getting faster and stronger using the combinations. He strikes a great balance between encouraging you and listening to your needs on that day. More holistically, he has great advice for how you can make meaningful but sustainable changes within a real life environment (for me, with a young child, work travel etc)! I was really impressed when I told Sandy that I was expecting and no longer wanted to do boxing training, he pivoted easily to prenatal fitness and strength, again with loads of helpful information to share. Fantastic experience: Personal Training in Edinburgh - Sandy encourages me to develop a regular habit of strength training. This is done in a friendly way that pushes me. I also put this strength training down to achieving a strong 2025 Edinburgh 1/2 marathon result followed by walking 220km around Menorca (GR223) - all injury free Highly reccomended 10/10.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a fair few PTs in my time & my experience is that many are style over substance. Not that Sandy ain’t a stylish fella but what’s important to me is that he understands me, my goals, what motivates me & what doesn’t. I’ve got a regular weekly slot with Sandy & have programmes that I can work on it between sessions on a great interactive app. He offers advice and support on nutrition too which is (he tells me) key. In all seriousness though, I can still have some treats/junk which (I tell him) is key. The Gym @ Meadowbank Stadium is as good as if not better than the facilities at nearby budget and premium gyms. Plus there are options to use other Edinburgh Leisure facilities including classes. RPM/Group Cycle is a good cardio/fat burn option for me in addition to my programme from Sandy.

Fantastic experience: I have just started Boxing Training Edinburgh with Sandy.while I am working in Edinburgh for 3 months. Sandy is knowledgeable, supportive and makes the classes enjoyable and fun. As an older client who has limited boxing experince, I am very grateful for Sandy's patience as I learn new techniques each session. Fantastic experience: After a year long knee injury I'm getting back into exercise and rebuilding my strength and Sandy has walked with me every step so far. His advice and optimism are refreshing. He is patient and pays so much attention to detail. Sandy explains the movements really clearly and helps build your confidence. All the exercises are well thought out to help me rebuild my strength in my knees and my confidence overall. He's a great PT and I highly recommend that if you're considering a PT - speak to Sandy!

Fantastic experience: I am really glad I started my gym and fitness journey with Sandy and I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is an amazing person, very friendly and knowledgeable. He always takes the time to explain how to use the equipment properly and safely, as well as explaining the effects the different exercises will have; which is exactly what I needed as a beginner and overcome the anxiety of joining a gym. He is also helping me to improve my diet and use it as a tool to achieve better results, which I never really considered before. Fantastic experience: I trained with Sandy for a couple of years and made huge progress, doing both weight training and boxing pad work as I found this a much more enjoyable way of doing cardio that I actually looked forward to (and I for one absolutely hate running!). Then I moved out of Edinburgh, stopped training and lockdown hit. I worked ridiculous hours in a demanding job, and the gym was moved to the bottom of my priorities. I felt I had completely let myself and my body go, but due to circumstances I couldn't control, and this was really hard to deal with mentally. I lost all the muscle & fitness I had built. Sandy reached out with impeccable timing and I ended up back training with him again in July. Despite my previous gym experience I admit I was nervous to go back, and he really helped my confidence - being there with me when I started using the big racks again! I had tried going on my own but felt self-conscious, and didn’t really have a plan. Sandy has helped me work out my goals again and he has been great at encouraging me. He makes sure I don’t rush back into it and injure myself, but still pushes me further than I would push myself if I was working out on my own. It has been great having the consistency of working with someone who knew me when I was at my fittest and what I was capable of, and is now helping me at what I felt was my worst. He’a a genuine person who i have known for a number of years now, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t want to train with anyone else now that I’ve finally got back into it. Couldn’t recommend him more! Worth every penny

Fantastic experience: I started doing boxing training with Sandy when I was working in Waverley Gate in Edinburgh. I had never really done anything related to boxing before and initially started for the fitness aspect as my main sport was running and I was severely lacking any upper body strength. I had been a bit nervous about starting boxing training as I wasn't sure what to expect. Sandy got me in for a chat to gauge my current fitness, my goals, any experience I had. From the moment I met him I felt more relaxed about starting the training. Sandy started me with the basics, but always made it engaging. I never felt like it was reparative and one of the first things that really struck me was how much there was to boxing. From the punches we moved onto stance, movement, combinations, phases, it was always challenging but never boring. I started getting a real interest in getting the boxing aspect right and for me this became more important than the fitness (which also improved massively from the training). This is where having Sandy, who having a boxing background, was a huge benefit, he understands the sport, gives you real world examples and drives a desire to be better! I trained with Sandy for several years and always felt that there was more to learn, but also that I really wanted to! The only reason I stopped the boxing classes was because I no longer work in Edinburgh, but I still miss my boxing sessions to this day and would absolutely take them up again if I'm back over that way.

Fantastic experience: Sandy and I worked together and he gave me the information, support and confidence to look at exercise and diet in a really positive way. He took account of my back issues when designing a fitness program and this made a huge difference to me. He is a great motivator and is supportive and always realistic in the goals we set together. I have lost weight am a lot fitter but more importantly I am happy with me and Sandy takes huge credit in all of this. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

Fantastic experience: Really impressed at how Sandy managed to zero in on my goals and provide the correct guidance for me. Fantastic experience: Thoroughly recommend forsythfitness.co.uk. Sandy is an excellent boxing trainer capable of developing your abilities no matter what level ( he boxed for Scotland so he knows what he is talking about) from beginners upwards. Boxing can be done by all and at all ages,( I’m 61). Give it a go, a half hour session costs about the same as a good lunch and is much better for you!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been training with Sandy for 4 years now and he has totally changed my approach to nutrition and training. I associated diets with deprivation and over trained doing mostly HIIT. Through gentle education, Sandy changed all that. Sandy is knowledgeable, supportive and it pains me to say it, hilarious, and makes training fun. He knows how to get the best out of each client, and doesn’t believe in a cookie cutter approach, it’s truly a personalised service. He is currently helping me through my post partum journey having trained me through pregnancy and I’m excited for all the new challenges.

Fantastic experience: Been training pads with Sandy for 4 years twice a week. The discipline of turning up to a solid boxing work out from footwork to combo’s has become the foundation of my return to fitness. His professionalism and knowledge of boxing, PT and diet is second to none. Fantastic experience: Sandy is a great PT who has trained me for 4+ years. Fantastic experience: Forsyth fitness is hands down best personal trainer in Edinburgh. Sandy helped me get back on track after having my daughter. I was at my heaviest and really struggling to balance work, fitness, being a mum. Sandy taught me to make time wherever I can, he taught me my diet is so important. Fantastic experience: I started training with Sandy over a year ago and he's been fantastic for me! Very positive guy, huge focus on improvement of technique and gradual improvements, which I think shows patience and confidence in what he's doing. I also prefer the emphasis on technique due to previous injuries I've had from various sports, as this helps to hopefully reduce chances of recurrence of old or appearance of new injuries. Fantastic experience: Sandy is an enthusiastic and supportive PT. I have trained with him for a number of years on both weights and pads. Fantastic experience: Sandy is a highly professional personal trainer. I have been his client for over 7 years and his positive, supportive attitude combined with excellent knowledge on fitness and nutrition is exactly what you want in a PT. I have gone from barely being able to squat or walk on a treadmill to doing 5km runs and 40kilo squats. He has aided with recovery after surgery, working hand in hand with physiotherapist and understands the challenges faced with mental wellbeing/body perceptions.
